01. i only read my own threads. occasionally i'll skim the dash and if the reply is shorter i'll read it, but i don't read other people's full threads. and of course when someone follows me or i want to follow someone i'll look at their writing to see if our styles would mesh!

02. idk people have a lot of interesting pet peeves and things they dont like that i'm kinda shrugs about. idc about you reblogging things from me like musings, idc if you dont cut your post unless its like a billion in a row bc i do replies on mobile and cant be assed a lot of the time, idc if you have icons or gifs or if you have fancy borders or not. idc if you're writing an oc or a canon as long as we have something fun going and planned ig !

thank youu, I was worn out by my lowes adventure today so I have not determined whether the new strap wrench is going to work. however! I have determined there's an ace hardware not far away that has more stuff than I realized so I might be able to actually get advice from a person in-store who somewhat knows something lol if I need to find Another Tool. hopefully close to the conclusion!! it does seem like once I successfully loosen the Giant Lock Nut I will be home free. but I've said that Several Times.

3. what do you think are all the reasons that contributed to vermouth being protective of shinichi and ran?

i think it's a mixture of things! while the two of them saving her back in new york played a part, seeing their kindness and principle and how were willing to reach out a hand, after spending so long in the organization, did leave an impact. she hasn't experienced such thing in so long. (while i think she's certainly seen a lot of dark sides of people, she has probably also seen the good in the darkness at times because people are complicated, and she's lived a long life, i think she does believe such kindness exist in the world, just doubt that it extends to someone like her - although she probably also doubts if she deserves that kind of pure kindness.) and while that certainly plays a part, it's not the only reason - not just the kindness and saving people, but also the way shinichi had thought things through, had observed her condition and made mental calculation on things also impressed her. i don't think kindness and principle are enough for someone like vermouth. the way she considers him a silver bullet who can one day bring the organization down is also a major reason.

she has sensed he is someone who can play an important role, and this role will affect her fate since she is deep in the organization at the moment and possibly forever if things do not change. he is useful to her, the silver bullet. (akai is also a silver bullet but she has no warm feelings towards him and if it could be achieved without him, all the better!)

and yukiko is also another reason. vermouth has a very soft spot for yukiko, their entwined history has caused her to let yukiko get away with things she won't let others get away with. she is so very indulgent and while she would like to think it's just for unimportant stuff, trivial things, and that when it comes to her job she is still very cold-hearted and all. but if she's willing to back off haibara for yukiko, being protective of yukiko's son and potential daughter in law is just, very natural as well

ultimately vermouth is a complicated person with various agendas and motives and so i tend to think a lot of things influence her actions, mainly the ones i listed above but possibly lot more things, maybe smaller accumulated stuff as well
