A Cross-Country Calamity
@txuko
It was fun to finally get to do something with his Amaura. Amaura were very sensitive creatures that needed extreme cold and snow to be comfortable, so he hadnât had her out in ages. But now he finally had his opportunity, as he wrapped up the first day of a Gym Leaderâs conference in Snowpoint and decided to ski along the trails on Route 217.
Roark watches the Amargasaurus Pokemon out of the corner of his eye, playing in the snow about twenty meters behind him. The snow is falling aggressively, as usual, but not blizzarding. He thinks that maybe it would be fun to make a snow cave and stay the night there instead of the ski lodge, but then his dad would probably worry about where he went.Â
Itâs Roarkâs way to go out into the wilderness alone, an ironically dangerous thing for a safety supervisor to do. But he has his Pokemon, and if he got into any trouble surely they would rescue him.
Going off-trail a bit, he weaves through narrow openings between the thick evergreen trees, when suddenly something pink catches his eye. Slowing down a bit, he sees that itâs a baseball cap--a personâs there!
Skiing over to the cap, he confirms his theory and positions his outriggers so that he comes to a neat stop in front of her, balancing on them to squat down (skiing on his particular model of prosthetic was impossible, so at the moment he only had one leg to account for).Â
âIn a bit of a predicament, ainât ya?â he asks more cheerfully than he ought to. âLet me guess--you got trapped in the snow. You canât really move along this trail without skis or snowshoes, you know! Anyway, let me help you out. I hope you donât have frostbite.â
