a writer living over in south congress. theyāve called austin home for 2 years Ā now, and i hear you can usually find them at any food truck around town. people say theyāre curious and idealistic , but that they also can be a bit scatterbrained and prideful. they remind me of Ā sticky notes littered with idea after idea- most incoherent, cups of coffee piling up tall after another sleepless night, late night walks to clear his head and piece together the next chapter of his story, hushed words spoken to little kids who want to know the next part of a spooky tale, a need for his name to be known even by just one person.
i donāt have a complete bio yet (or anything that i had for Rosie rip) but hereās a little about my son:
-Parker was born in a very small town outside of Kansas City but from age 5 to 18, he raised by his paternal grandparents; which meant he moved down to Wichita, Kansas to be with them. He only has the vaguest memories of his dad and none of his mother.
- Private schools were all he knew. His grandma decided that in order to make his actually follow a different path than his parents he needed a better education. (and with kansasā public schools systems.. private schools were the best option)
- Parker has never had problems fitting in. he had a knack for weaving a story together and making people listen. the problem was that he never really knew how to not exaggerate certain circumstances.Ā
-To please his guardians, he went to WSU for a year. he found himself bored and uninterested in the classwork. As a compromise, he took online courses from a community college and focused himself on his writing.
- There had always been a part of Parker that wanted to try & see what the world had to offer. he needed to rough it on his own. And he finally decided Texas was the place to go-not too far from home, but still far enough away that he felt her could spread his wings. It took a year and a halfās savings & working long, grueling hours that kept him from his novels. But in the end he found himself in a new city with all sorts of possibilities.
-To make a little money while he works on his main project, Parker writes childrenās books and works at the library. So far heās written three, and two of them did fairly well after publication.
-he is in a writing group; but hasnāt really branched out these past couple of years because heās been focusing on establishing himself in work so he could have enough to be able to take time off.
