Hi! I have a question. I have followed you for a bit and you have provided me with a lot of great insight on ableism! My question is: I generally like helping people, really anyone, but I don’t want to come across as “OMG HERE LET ME GET THAT 4 U” kind of human when I see a disabled human might want help with a door, or reaching something up high at a store. I always ask if they’d like help and if they say no, that’s cool with me. Thoughts on this kind of interaction?

What's your favorite restaurant that you've ever been to? What entree did you get?
I’m not one for fancy restaurants, but my all time favorite place I’ve gone to eat was a place called Tocabe. It’s a Native American restaurant in Colorado, and the food was so magnificent that we actually went back twice when we were on our holiday.
It’s not an entree as such, but this delightful mess is an open taco, consisting of shredded buffalo, some kind of beans, sauce, salads and to kinds of salsa, one of which had pumpkin in it. All of that sits on top of something called frybread, which I hadn’t encountered before, but was the best.
It’s a long way for me to go, from Australia to Colorado, but I would just about consider it worth the trip.

How is the chill an example of executive dysfunction? Asking for me.
It’s not. I’m not chill. Other people mistakenly think I am chill. They are wrong. They are not looking at me being chill. They are looking at me having executive dysfunction. And misinterpreting what they are seeing.

two-hearted replied to your post “Man, Lola’s coat looks terrible right now. I thought she was blowing...”
Had a similar situation with our shepherd mix. She had to be dewormed 4 times before her coat improved and the fur grew back. We went to the vet 3 times, and the fourth time, I ordered a dewormer online, because the vet bill was almost $100 every time.
What type of dewormer did you end up getting? Lola was dewormed with Interceptor but I might get Drontol next.
(1) I know that you get these questions by the hundreds or even thousands, but I haven't received a reply from anyone that I've asked in the past... I have RA and Lupus. On my best days, I have no issues with my diseases and can appear perfectly fine! On my worst days, every action is a struggle, and it really depends on outside factors how my day goes as my specialist is still trying to manage the diseases. Would it be far-fetched if I felt like my cat could be my ESA?
she is incredibly empathetic and loves to follow me wherever I go, and really does help me on my worst days. But I don’t want to be one of those people, you know? Thank you if you find the time to answer this! Please keep updating your blog!
Absolutely. It sounds like she already functions as your ESA, honestly, if she’s helping you through bad pain or low spoons days. That’s exactly the purpose of an ESA. Chronic conditions or the things that easy them are not invalidated by the high-function days.
Do cup noodles like being cup noodles? If so, why?
Most noodles are very happy to be cup noodles! The reason that noodles like being in a cup is because, in this case at least, the cup is also a humid hide. I put damp sphagnum moss into the cup and then put the cup in the warmest part of the noodle’s enclosure so that it’s warm, dark, and a little damp. This helps to keep noodle skins in tip-top moisturized condition and it gives them a comfy place to take a nap. I bump the humidity slightly when I see a noodle going into shed to help them out.I offer a cup to every noodle (bigger noodles get bigger cups until they are too big and then they get tubs with a hole in the lid part) and while not all noodles like their cups as much as Jimber, the majority of them hang out in their cups at least part of the time.
