I've been listening to more R&B than usual recently, which I'm choosing to explain by my discerning recognition of genre trends and not the vagueries of the algorithm or whatever. Yazmin Lacey, Asal Hazel, and Kehlani are on the more traditional end of things (and I think "Folded" has some of Kehlani's best lyrics in ages). Jae Stephens, Devaura and FLO moving into dancier territory.
Chaeyoung's "Avocado" seems to me anyway to be an unusually old-school R&B vibe for a k-pop star, which is also somewhat true for Dayoung's "Body".

Maths Time Joy Unveils Stunning Video for “Two Steps” [Premiere]
To say songwriter, DJ, and producer Maths Time Joy has an impressive resume would be an understatement. The aforementioned resume includes working with artists such as Mary J. Blige, Snakehips, and Bebe Rexha as well as a Grammy nomination. His versatility and talent can’t be overstated. His recent collaboration with Kevin Garrett is further proof of this, resulting in the hypnotic single “Two Steps.”
Speaking on the collaboration, Maths Time Joy said,
"Kevin has been one of my favourite artists for a long time so it was an honour to get to work with a songwriter like him, he brings such a sincerity to his work and it was interesting to work in a sonic space that is a bit more uptempo than both of us would usually sit."
The video is the perfect visual companion for the single, transitioning between images of Garrett and tranquil events in nature. Between the stunning color scheme and the incorporation of a vintage film aesthetic, the video provokes a strong sense of nostalgia. Watch the video for “Two Steps” here:
