Merlin falls to his knees, groaning in pain as he presses his palms against his eyes in hopes of reducing the headache

The disgruntled witch is captured, but Arthur, not paying attention to this, is already running to Merlin

"Merlin? Hey, look at me. How are you?"

Merlin grumbles, but his tone changes when he looks up at Arthur.

"How does it look to you? I feel- much better now that you're here"

"what?"

Arthur breathes out in fluster (He doesn't squeak)

Merlin just shrugs, his amorous smile causing dimples to appear on his rosy cheeks, dilated pupils playfully look out from under the eyelashes

"I always feel better every time I see you!"

Arthur immediately decided to escape his overwhelming emotions head off to interrogate the sorceress

Merlin, of course, follows him

(Leon had already asked if it was a truth spell, and the witch had confusedly refused.

The knights appreciated the half-joking comment)

The sorceress confesses her plan to make Arthur fall in love with her so he would change the law for her

The knights soon realize that Merlin is acting almost as usual. Only his teasing of Arthur has become more openly flirtatious.

And Arthur tries to act normal, but everyone sees how every time Merlin acts so openly amorous, Arthur freezes and screams inside

Later, when they return to Camelot and Gaius says he needs time to identify the spell, Arthur is able to calm down a bit in solitude while Gaius examines Merlin

And It suddenly dawns on him that Merlin's amorous expression is very similar to the way he'd noticed his manservant looking at him sometimes.

That he'd heard that tender tone many times before. Though the words were clearly different.

That he'd already experienced that reverent caressing of Merlin's touch when he changed his clothes

And that Merlin's gaze wanders slightly in the same way as Arthur sometimes notices before servant catching himself

Arthur realizes that Merlin might already be in love with him

He's had a very eye-opening hunt

Arthur thinks about the cure for all love spells Gaius mentioned and leans toward Merlin when he changes him for bed

Merlin immediately and enthusiastically returns the kiss, grabbing Arthur by the nightgown he had just been straightening, crumpling it again and pulling him closer, humming happily until he suddenly freezes
