     From the deep scowl on the Count’s face, it looks as though he might quite literally kick Zoe out of his castle. He is silent for much too long, staring down at the young trickster who’s had the audacity to appear uninvited in his library.

she wastes no time in sparing a few glances at the their surroundings with the very hope to detect at least an adult, anyone who might be related to this lost soul.

after mere seconds of search, her attention finally returns to the much smaller form of a person.

there’s  a  low  rumble  that  mimicks  a  laughter,  almost  warm  enough.  he  DOES  appreciate  some  good  flattering,  it’s  true,  and  in  any  other  situation  he’d  allow  himself  to  enjoy  her  presence  around,  to  take  her  under  his  care  because  something  about  this  child  is  just  too  special  to  be  ignored  even  by  HIM  /  it’s  just  that  disgusting  targonian  magic  clinging  to  her  being  that  makes  him  wary,  distant,  cold.

Imagine: a well-trained and specially-honed full-grown ninja standing motionless underneath a sparkly rain of glitter coming from a floating girl a third of his size. 

⋆ — On one hand, yes he does. He really, really, really wants to explore some Ixtal ruins. He’s been trying to break in there for years and years, and Ezreal knows there’s way more to the place than what he’s discovered so far. If anyone can get into them, it’s Zoe. But on the other hand ... it’s Zoe. Does he want to spend more time with her than he absolutely has to? ... No. No he does not. 

     But Ixtal! And ... she’s not that bad, really. A little overeager, a little ... familiar ... but ultimately not bad. Right? It’ll just be for a few hours at most. He can handle that. 

     “All right! I’m down. I’ve got some snacks too, but——don’t eat them all! They’re rations.”
