Still in denial
I feel so anxious. It’s almost here. I am not ready to live without Rick Grimes.
Why is it that every time Rick has a plan and a good portion of the group wants to go away from that plan, they don’t realize it usually ends in someone dying/getting killed? It’s been 9 seasons. You would have thought the characters would have learned to trust Rick by now. I understand everyone’s reasonings for wanting to get revenge on the saviors and Negan. I know I would probably want to do the same, but I have a feeling this revenge path is going to blow up in their faces, getting some people killed and this is probably going to include Rick.
 I mean, this has been happening since season 5, season 2 at the earliest. Shane didn’t trust Rick to deal with Randall and it led to Shane getting killed by Rick, than leading the walkers to the farm. No one agreed with Rick that they needed to take out the rest of the Terminus cannibals and it led to Bob having his leg cut off and eaten. Tyreese and Daryl didn’t like Rick’s plan to get Beth back alive and it led to Beth’s death. Deanna didn’t believe Rick and some of the group on how the world really worked now, that her people weren’t prepared for the world and look at how many deaths that lead to: Aiden, Noah, Reg, Pete, Nicholas, a list of unnamed Alexandrians, Deanna herself.Â
And now here we are in season 9. Once again, Rick has a plan but this time it’s for the future of every community. And once again, some members of the group are going against the plan, chiefly Maggie and Daryl. Despite saying back in season 5 to Deanna and the rest of Alexandria that Rick has good judgement and the group probably wouldn’t have made it this far without him, they’re dead set against Rick’s plans again. And I’m willing to bet this is going to end with people getting killed once again but this time, it’s going to be Rick’s death. They’ll probably get their revenge but at what cost?Â
Do I think the saviors and Negan need to pay for the things they did? Yes, absolutely! Is killing every single savior the answer? No, it probably isn’t. Killing a large portion of the people you don’t like is something Negan would have done and it’s definitely what the Governor would do. And if you kill people you don’t like and who were allied with an enemy, how are they becoming any different from the Governor and Negan? Imagine if they had this same kind of revenge mentality with Tara after the prison attack, after Merle escaped Woodbury with Daryl, with all of the Woodbury survivors. This revenge is probably going to backfire somehow, get innocents killed, and will more than likely be the reason that Rick will be gone. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
