Yandere Cardan X F!Reader X Yandere Jude - Hunger Strike
Heya! Glad you're enjoying so far, I've been loving the ideas. (Reliving my TFOTA era thanks to you!) Hope this one does them justice. I can't really tell wheather it's meant as a continuation of the last two or not so i'll do my best for it to fit in case it is! Tw. restricting food, starvation
[Reader] had been stuck living among the Fae for so long now that she had lost track of time. To her misfortune, the King and Queen themselves had taken great interest in her. Well, interest was putting it lightly. Cardan was absolutely infatuated with her, a fixation that only matched his obsession with his wife - who was far harder to gauge. [Reader] was quite surprised to see that his mortal wife held more power than even the King. Sadly, Judeās being human didnāt make her any more compassionate toward [Reader]. At least, thatās what [Reader] believed. If she could see into Judeās mind, sheād discover a possessive, quiet, burning desire to own, protect, and provide, just as strong as Cardanās desire to own, possess, and (in his case) spoil. But [Reader] saw neither of them as anything but manic captors who had stolen away her life. And she desperately searched for a way to make their lives a living hell in return.
And she would quickly find it - in a very unpleasant way, yes, but a way nonetheless. Over time serving them, [Reader] had noticed Cardan tended to indulge: wine and alcohol especially. He almost took offense when he offered someone one of his ādelicaciesā and they refused. Esspecialy if it was her. So the next time he sat his prisoner - dressed in lavish, decorated clothing - next to himself, she simply refused to eat. Cardan, being Cardan, teased her. He brought pieces of fruit right up to her lips, taunting her. But she knew better. She had seen humans eat that fruit, and she was not touching it. āCome on, princess⦠I had it specially delivered.ā He placed his thumb over her lower lip, aiming to open her mouth by force. āIām sure youāll love it-ā The next thing he knew, her teeth were buried in his flesh. He screamed, pulling back as she spat out his dark blood and turned to stare at the wall, away from him. He was only glad this was happening in their chambers. If [Reader] had done this in the main hall, Jude would kill them both.
[Reader] found herself back in her room, a cooling bowl of soup sitting untouched on the table. Leaning out the window, she caught bits of the conversation drifting from the next room over. It sounded like Cardan - crying to his wife about the bite. She couldnāt help but smirk.
Meanwhile, in the next room, Jude was doing her best to calm her husband down. "Calm down, Cardan. So she hasnāt eaten for a day. Iāve gone without food for much longer." "Donāt act like thatās healthy! And her biting me definitely isnāt normal!" "Okay, okay, so she had a moody day. You canāt expect much better in her situation." "So Iām just supposed to not be worried?!" Cardan plopped himself down on the bed, his tail swishing like a dramatic black cat. "I would be just as worried if it were you," he muttered. A touch of compassion softened Judeās gaze. She knew he was exaggerating, but she also knew the fear was real. He was afraid for their lover. She sat beside him, fingers gently threading through his silky black hair. "Iām sure sheāll snap out of it in no time, love. Now letās rest." The queen began unbuttoning the top of her dress, knowing full well how quickly her husband would catch on. In the end, the two spent the night distracting themselves though a good portion of Cardanās worry had already begun to gnaw away at them both.
Walking down the corridor the next morning, the king and queen came across a maid carrying a tray of cold food, her dress wrinkled and hair slightly askew as she muttered curses under her breath. āDamn these mortals-ā āIs there an issue with [Reader]?ā Judeās voice echoed through the hall, calm but firm. The maid looked up abruptly and bowed low. āIām sorry, Your Highness⦠[Reader] has refused any food since yesterday.ā Almost unconsciously, Jude reached for Cardanās hand, and he gladly took it, both of them already feeling that familiar spike of dread. āAnd why is that?ā Jude asked. āShe... said something about rather starving than living under your roof a second longerā¦ā The fear twisted tighter in their stomachs. Cardan stepped forward to take the tray. āSurely a little convincing will do the trick-ā āDonāt bother,ā Jude interrupted coldly. āShe wants to starve? So be it. For now.ā āWhat!?ā Cardan and the maid spoke in unison, both stunned and a little panicked. āYou canāt be serious, Jude-!ā āI very much am. Let her throw her tantrum. Sheāll get tired eventually.ā What Jude didnāt hear, however, was the faint growl from behind the nearby door. Nor did she see the way [Reader] clenched her fists, trembling with anger. A tantrum? Sheāll show her a tantrum.
And thatās exactly what she did. The next week passed in a cycle: trash the room, refuse to eat, sleep. She had it down to a routine - flawless, even - despite Cardanās constant pleading and Judeās growing frustration. By the end of the week, [Reader] didnāt feel her best, weak and aching, but still fiercely stubborn. Cardan sitting beside her once again did. not. help. āPlease, my darling,ā he begged, voice breaking slightly. āEven just a piece of bread. Please-ā āSince when do you beg?ā Judeās voice came from the doorway, her arms crossed. She tried not to show how deeply unsettled she was - by her husband's sudden softness and by [Reader]ās unyielding defiance. āDo you have a better idea!?ā Cardan snapped at her. āI do, actually. Send me home!ā [Reader] shot back, glaring at them both. āIām not eating anything your kind brings me!ā āOh, come on, dear-ā Cardan started again, reaching for her. But Jude was already dragging him away by the wrist. āIf she doesnāt want to eat, then she wonāt!ā Jude snapped. āYou bet I wonāt!ā [Reader] shouted right back, fire in her voice despite how hollow her body felt.
Another week passed, and the already thin [Reader] no longer even left the bed. She could see the panic in their eyes - Cardanās, and even Judeās. But she couldnāt seem to enjoy it anymore. The hunger pains had taken over, bitting away at every thought until her mind was fogged and useless. She couldnāt focus. Couldnāt remember what she was fighting for. It had been important once. She was sure of that. But now? That importance felt distant, muted, like a story sheād once overheard and half-forgotten. Her skin clung too tightly to her bones now. She could see them - sharper than before, more present than the people watching her waste away. Still, something about this felt⦠familiar. The hollow, weightless ache. The quiet coldness pooling in her chest. The darkness crawling in from the edges of her vision. A memory from her human past, maybe. Then, it hadnāt been this strong - but the tiredness, the chill, the sense of slow erasure⦠they were the same. Like vultures circling fresh kill, resignation began to settle over her, wings brushing close.
[Reader] woke one evening to the sound of sobbingquiet, stifled, desperate. Her eyes fluttered open, hazy with exhaustion, only to find her two captors above her. Cardan was half-slumped across the mattress, tear-streaked cheeks flushed, his shaking hand clinging to the blanket like a lifeline. Behind him, Jude knelt with a hand on his shoulder, not to comfort him, it seemed, but to steady herself. āPleaseā¦ā Cardanās voice broke. āPlease end this here, darling.ā āWe canāt return you nowā¦ā Jude whispered. āEven if we could live without youā¦ā Cardan's whimpering shifted into open weeping, shoulders trembling, while Judeās composure cracked, silent tears slipping down her face. They were terrified. For her. Had they always been this way? Were these the monsters she was trying to starve herself away from? Jude dipped a spoon into a small bowl of rice porridge and gently brought it to [Reader]ās lips. āPlease, loveā¦ā Love? Was that word real? Did they actually say it, or was her hunger spinning lies now? That word clung strangely in her mind - like warmth on frostbitten skin. Was she hearing it right? Maybe the hunger was scrambling her perception. Maybe it was a trick. But the way they looked at her - soft, pleading, desperate - it didnāt feel like malice. The weight of their bodies curled beside her. Their warmth surrounded her. If they truly meant harm⦠why would they cry like this? āPlease, love. Eat.ā [Reader] stared for a heartbeat longer, then hesitantly parted her lips and swallowed the offered bite. Both captors inhaled sharply - then gasped, then cried out in shaky, half-choked joy. āOh - oh thank you, princess!ā Cardan pressed closer, wrapping his arms around her frail frame. āDonāt worry, dear,ā Jude whispered, voice tight with emotion, āWeāll make sure you canāt remember.ā āItās the best outcome for all of us, loveā¦ā
