iâve been debating for a while how to go about posting a thorough meta about my choice of faceclaim and how it affects edwardâs story. but frankly i do not think i could do it justice, even attempting to cite relevant quotes... thereâs just too much information to compile in a single post and i wouldnât want to address it on surface level.
donât get me wrong, using poc fcs for otherwise characters perceived as white doesnât need a reason to justify it and i donât think people who do it with a âhistoric basisâ are doing anything wrong. but i never want it to come across as a mere aesthetic choice specially considering the sensitivity of the subjects involving edwardâs background.
if anyoneâs curious about my take on edwardâs ethnicity and how it lines up historically (because i have been told itâd be âhistorically inaccurateâ for him to be anything but white, which is simply not true and the result of how whitewashed history is). but again, i donât think i can put all of these thoughts coherently in a way that also covers all that needs to be covered.
