A post made by the lovely @mr-kennedys-elf got me thinking about HOW exactly Luis removed the Plagas from himself and I NEED to share my brainworms or else I’ll EXPLODE

Like my biggest question is, did he use the same machine that Leon and Ashley used, just an earlier prototype?? Or did he physically c a r v e it out of himself with a scalpel or a knife???????

Cuz on one hand, we know for certain that the machine at one point was N O T safe in the SLIGHTEST and took the lives of MULTIPLE scientists, would might explain why Luis has such a gnarly scar, but on a similar other hand that scar looks WAY too raggedy and rushed for it NOT to have been done by hand

But if he DID carve it out by hand, how on earth would he have even managed that without passing out??????? Cuz the Plagas probably sits somewhere in the sternum or by the lungs since it causes people to cough up blood, so how damn deep did he have to dig?? Cuz I SO doubt that the scar would be that healed if this was the case (or, if it IS the case, how long ago did he remove the Plagas??? Did he have to do it early on?????)

BUT, IF HE REMOVED IT WITH THE MACHINE, can you imagine how damn scary that’d be?????? You’ve just spent god knows how long watching every other researcher that has tried to test it on themselves die horrifically, and now you’re the last one, and all you can do is just sit here and PRAY that you don’t end up with the same fate as them. There’s nothing you can do except take whatever the machine gives you. That’s TERRIFYING man

I wanted to thank you all for the love you've shown on Celeste and Alonso's posts. It really makes me smile and well I think I'm a little bit in love with them too, especially after all their adventures/vacays!

I’d absolutely love to see any images of Hunter post-op. There’s one scene where he wakes up with an IV in his hand and his lack-of eye wrapped up, and he’s lying in kings pile of stuffed animals.

If any of the medical stuff is too icky for you, or you just don’t wanna, it’s ok. I just figured I’d ask.

It remember me I did that when I was kid for my sis' at the hospital x) I placed all her toys around her on her bed for when she get up !

(Roman shrugs,)

Roman: Oh, nothing much! A broken bone here and there, a limb replacement, nothing too drastic.

(Virgil laughs, eyes wide,)

Virgil: Limb??? No shit??? What did you do?!

Roman: It was nothing! I very nobly attempted to save some poor horses from an angry griffin, and lost an arm for my trouble. But, my mother isn’t a top-rank Cleric for nothing~! So, of course, she helped me grow it back.

(Virgil seems disturbed for a minute at the idea of regrowing lost limbs. He wonders for a moment whether it is a good idea to say anything, then frowns,)

Virgil: ...How long after a limb is lost can you try to regrow it?

Roman: It doesn’t matter! The process takes a few days at least, but it can fix anything. Healing magic of that caliber can work wonders~!

Virgil: ...Hm. Cool.

(...There is an awkward pause. Roman is more sensitive to Virgil’s touchy subjects now, so he isn’t going to pry. Virgil smiles as he realizes this, then sighs,)

Virgil: Just as reckless as a kid, then, huh? Your poor mother.

{ Damp strands of violet hair cling to Scaramouche’s forehead as he lays face down on the operation table, cold metal to compliment the sweat that cools on his clammy skin. The constant poking and tinkering to his nerves leaves the taste of bile rising in his throat. He’s thankful, sometimes, that Dottore doesn’t see his expression whenever they go through this process. Even though it’s so delicate, so light, his nerves feel like they’re on fire- singing with a hymn known only to him.

The pain lessens suddenly- Scaramouche had barely even heard a word of what he’d said, too busy relishing in the sweet relief of respite. A break, finally. He forces his breathing to steady, somehow feeling more vulnerable and exposed than being literally cut open and splayed out like a dry mounted insect.

Being awake for it all just reminds him that his ‘organs’ have and can feel air upon their surface, innards pulsing and working in overdrive, some instinctual thing buried in his directives screaming at nothing, begging to be stitched up and closed, to be tucked away back into their shell, safe and sound.

Maybe numbness would be welcome in this case.

If Scaramouche were any less coherent, he might’ve mistaken Dottore’s offer for kindness. Maybe even worry. But he quickly regains himself, swallowing down that acidic burn in his throat as he croaks out a, “...Don’t stop... on my account...” He pants, the effort clear in his voice.

Don’t pity me. Is what he really means.

He is better than pity. Not undeserving, just simply beyond it. The puppet knows he is squirming. Knows that his strings have been pulled taut like a chord to be played, the shaking like the tremble of a single plucked note through his spine. He grits his teeth, willing his body to stop acting against his will. To stop trying to break free of the binds that hold him here, because he knows better than what his body thinks it needs.

With a remarkable sense of control- or perhaps out of spite- he commands his body to still.

so hair transplants work like this:

Hair follicles are grafted from the back of the head, or any area with no balding (in male pattern baldness it's often the back n sides) onto the bald parts.

So we either have strip harvesting (this sounds so gross omg) where a strip of skin with functioning hair follicles is grafted, or we have follicular unit extractions where small follicular units are extracted and placed on the bald spot.

Strip harvesting is less expensive and time consuming but may look less natural and leave longer scars on the donor site whereas FUE is more expensive and takes longer and not everyone can do it, but it leaves only punctual scars and the recovery time from the invasion is shorter.

In the first days after a transplant, the transplanted hair can fall out (shock loss) but will grow back from the grafted follicles in the next (up to nine) months, with no more balding expected from the restored site.

If needed, hair transplants can also be made for chest hair, eyebrows etc.
