hi! Love your models alot and was wondering how you uv unwrap them so the pixel art in the texture look /like that/ I also want to incorporate pixel art into my models but the uv unwrapping part really trips me up 🙏
hihi ! yea UV unwrapping can be very tricky and methods vary a lot across model styles, but here's my process:
my models are fairly blocky, meaning that (most) shapes can be broken down into a few "sides". here I've used seams to split sonic's body into 4 sides, so i can then easily unwrap it and adjust the UVs. using seams is very very useful to speed up this process, and it keeps things clean.
this can be seen very clearly in every character's hands ^ basically turning them into lil papercrafts!
with pixel-art textures specifically, there's a few things to watch for: when you unwrap, blender will sorta just orient the UVs however it wants, so it's important to adjust all your UVs to be upright (or just 90-degree aligned), otherwise you'll end up with diagonal pixels. personally, i have all my UVs snap to pixels (UV -> Snap to Pixels -> Corner) to easily align them and make measuring pixel sizes between UV islands much easier, we don't want mixels!!
^ everything lines up perfectly !
this method does mean that i fiddle with pretty much every polygon to avoid pixel distortion .. a wiser person than i might know a good solution to this pshgjkfd. i try to have a rough pixel size in mind while modelling each part of a model, so that the mesh cooperates well with the textures.
when i start unwrapping a model, i create + assign the texture that i'll use, and then fill it with a checker pattern. this helps a LOT to check for pixel sizes and distortion during the process. then i can just start building the texture on top of this as i go.
i HIGHHLY recommend using the Pribambase blender plugin if you have aseprite for making textures; it links the two programs to let you edit blender textures on the fly, easily make new pixel-art materials, and adjust the world grid to your pixel size. vere good .

Hi! Love the work. I am heavily inspired by it. How do you do the masterlist?
Hiya darling, that's so sweet. Okay so, you'll create a new post
And then type out whatever the name of your master list is example - Bang chan imagnies, or BTS reactions, ect, whatever you're posting
Then you'll click the three dots on the post you're wanting to add to the list to "copy link"
Then once you have the link you can add it to your masterlist by doing this, write the title of your work/the thing you're posting. Highlight it and then click on the little chainlink
Then it'll let you upload the link you copied previously 🥰🥰 Hope that helped xx Below is how I do it for mine 🥰💜
How do you draw the feathers. My birds don’t look that great like there’s no depth and every time I try and add feathers it just looks naff
To be honest, I don't even think I do that that good either but I'll try to guide you step by step on how I draw birds in general. I'll keep it under the "keep reading" thing because it's going to be a little long.
First of all, as of now, I use these brushes by Sylar113.
Most importantly these two. The one on the left for sketches, lineart and coloring, the one right next to it for blending.
This is the step by step progress of the previous ask doodle.
Another thing I do is - I rarely undo stuff when drawing a sketch, I'd rather use eraser (I use the same brush I use for lineart for that, that brush leaves traces of what you wanted to get rid of and in my opinion it makes the drawing more organic).
Next step - most of the time I keep the sketch under the lineart. My hands are super shaky and I'm unable to draw a straight line most of the time and I'm that artist who's sketch looks better than lineart, so I'm combining both.
Added base color on another layer on multiply.
Added darker color.
And highlights. Right now it looks like shit but we're off to blending.
Now, I take the base color and the "blending" brush and just blend all these colors together.
I have no idea how to even put in the words some of the stuff I'm doing so I'm also including a video of me drawing this little doodle.
heyy how do you do this? ( as in on clicking the word 'this' you go straight to the fic? thanks!
Heyy ! Sorry for the late reply, my computer broke haha. Basically, you put the text you want, so say I want to say 'Click here!'
I'd write 'Click here,' highlight the words, and then on the white bar that pops up, click on the button next to the one that's for font colour (the one that looks like a paint bucket) and when you hover over it says 'inline link.' Then paste your link into the box, and you're done!

White and dark chocolate bars (preferably one specifically for melting)
Hazelnuts
Small spoons for stirring/ filling
Cocktail stick/ toothpick
Microwave
Fridge
Melt* some dark chocolate first and fill the wings, then cool the tray.
When solid, melt some white chocolate, keep tray at an angle and **spread on the white belly. Add the hazelnut and cool again.
Fill the face, back and feet with more melted dark chocolate. Cool.
If you want, you can fill the rest by adding some white and dark and **swirling it for a fun pattern.
* When melting make sure not to leave it in the microwave too long! It will turn grainy and useless. A couple blocks at 700~900W for 30 sec at a time will do. Take it out when it is ⅔ melted and stir untill the rest melts.
** You can use a cocktail stick/ toothpick for this.
