#turning 1

I haven't been able to drink coffee for a while. Even taking just a few sips of my wifes makes my stomach hurt sometimes now. I don't think I have an ulcer or anything. But it still causes enough discomfort that I haven't been drinking it often.

I haven't missed it a whole lot. But I sure miss it today.

Our little kid has been wide awake and ready to go by like 7 (some mornings much earlier) for a couple of weeks now. He woke up around 8-830 for the longest time and I got used to it. So I am not adapting well to the sudden much earlier change.

The early rising makes me miss coffee even more!🙄

I also think he is trying to walk. He has been letting go of things while standing to balance himself. A few days ago he was still scared to let go. And then all of a sudden he got brave and then braver and sometimes stands for a few seconds by himself now before plopping down. We get excited about it so now he does too. I just know he is going to try to take his first steps without assistance any day now...and I am TERRIFIED! I AM NOT, I REPEAT, NOT. READY. AT. ALL!...😭

(All the coffee talk made me want coffee so bad I swear my mouth watered. So I just put on a small pot of coffee. I put a little extra water in it to make it weak. And I'm gonna smother it in milk. I'm sure it's gonna taste strange and weak. But I want coffee so bad I'm willing to try it. Now to see how much I can actually drink.)

I made a trip to dollar tree, party city, and placed an order on oriental trading to start working on decorations, favors, and stuff for his birthday party.

I am up to my elbows in pipe cleaners, crazy straws, paper straws, pom poms, googly eyes, foam monster mouths and eyes, some super cute party favors, and a ton of other stuff right now experimenting with what will work and be cute and what won't. I still love the monster theme and think that it's all gonna turn out so cute.

(The. coffee. is. definitely. super. weak!🙄 I hate my stomach!)

The oriental trading order came in yesterday, a few days earlier than expected, so I was really excited about that. I need to put together one of the favor boxes and make sure everything is going to fit and see if what I imagine the finished product looking like is going to be as cute as I think it is.

The only thing I still haven't ordered is the partybell order which will include the plates, dessert plates, cups, napkins, forks, lime green tablecloths, party hats, invitations, and monster suckers.

I bought a bright red round flannel backed tablecloth from dollar tree to make a monster face on and drape it over the lime green tablecloth. I ordered 6 inch googly eyes to use for it and will use white cardstock to make the teeth.

So it should look a little like this only with a lime green base and red monster.

Who’d have known that this little blog that came out of nowhere would turn a year old and have so many wonderful people following it?

When I got the notification for this blog turning a year old, I was pretty surprised that it had been one year... since I was pushed over the edge and decided to write my own content. A sudden idea and a couple dozen reactions later, here I am lucky enough to have over 400 followers. I can’t thank each of you enough.

Today is a day I would like to express thanks to the many people who inspire and help me make content. To the GIF makers of Tumblr, who always make wonderful GIFs for me to find and use. To all the shy followers who request for me to write or tell me they enjoy my content. Thanks to everyone who happens to pass by the blog and those who look forward to reading the content.

Thanks to all the idols who work so hard and never forget to chase after their dreams.

To me this birthday is pretty special. So if you took the time to read my cheesy post, you have my sincerest love and gratitude.

I remember him being so tiny since he came 6 weeks early 😬 he was just a little preemie. Now he doesn't even look it. 😭 gosh, he gotten so big.

Agggghhh!!! Only 1 week until Micah turns 1 and I have all the feels!!😭

I took a week off from working on his party stuff since I needed a break (and was nearly done) and planned to finish everything Monday.

Well, I got some of it done Monday, but kept getting distracted and wanted to just sit and play with Micah. (which I finally did)

So, with one week to go, I JUST started working on the monster tablecloth cover for his cake table.

Since it is a picnic table I wanted to make sure to position the monster face to where it wouldn't be hidden by the bench part of the picnic table. Suddenly as I spread out the round tablecloth to work on it I had a great idea. Instead of attaching the large googly eyes completely flat against the cloth where it will hang down I decided to position them to where they will stick up at the edge of the table. Hard to explain but I held one of the eyes up and snapped a picture. I think it will be even cuter with them sticking up against the table edge and am hoping it works out when I go to attach them that way.

I still need to cut out the teeth from white cardstock and then I'll be ready to attach everything. So it will still kinda look like this but a little different.
