wc: ~1800 masterlist blades of grass pt. 2
Zoro finds you lying in the grass of Galley-La, gazing up at the stars in the middle of the night. The crew was spending the last few days healing and recovering from the attack at Enies Lobby. You were wounded particularly badly, a slice at the waist opening more and more as the battle continued until you finally passed out from blood loss. Chopper did what he could at the time, but he knew you needed more care, surgery even if he had the time to check.
Your waist was covered in thick bandages covering stitches at your waist. You knew it would leave a thick scar, but at least you made it. At least you helped your friends as best you could. You knew that, but you couldn’t help shame, guilt, worthlessness gnawing at your insides. you should’ve trained harder. You need to train harder to protect your friends, otherwise you’re just a burden, always will be.Â
You don’t notice him until you hear his soft steps on the grass. When he approaches you, you don’t meet his eyes. You can’t.Â
Zoro silently lays beside you, hands behind his head. You both lay like that for a while, neither of you daring to break the silence. You two were always most comfortable with each other out of all the straw hats. It just felt easy to be silent together, napping or lounging lazily in the evenings, sitting near each other during meals, him offering you his liquor at parties, and moments like this when one of you found the other sitting quietly in the dark of night. You shared things you were too ashamed or too embarrassed to say to the others. It just happened.Â
Your thoughts keep spinning in your head until you can’t take it anymore. Hot tears stain your cheeks and your nose stings as you begin to sob. You put the back of your hand against your mouth to silence your cries, but nothing can stop it now. When you feel the tears begin to blur your vision, your nose begins to run, you sit up and vigorously rub your face. You are desperate to hide your tears, quiet your sobs, control your snotty nose, anything to alleviate the humiliation, the shame of crying, even if it’s in front of Zoro. You know he doesn’t care, but you do.Â
At this point you’re practically clawing at your face, your skin feels rubbed raw, and you feel your nails scrape against your cheeks, your nose, your chin, until you feel the steady warmth of his touch, gentle on your shoulder.Â
“That’s enough.”
You lower your hands and bring your knees up before holding them to your chest.
“I-I just got in the way,” you begin softly, your voice raspy and shaking from crying. As you continue, you maintain your gaze forward, refusing to make eye contact with him. “I couldn’t help. I wasn’t strong enough. I-I was just,” you struggle to swallow a sob as it breaches your throat. You feel your tears run anew and your voice breaks as you finish, “I was just dead weight.”Â
As you finish, you take a deep breath and it comes out rough, shaky. You realize Zoro’s thumb has been moving in soft circles on your shoulder.Â
“You’re stronger than you give yourself credit for, y/n,” he says after a moment. “In ways nobody else is.”
You glance up at him, and his expression is tender but steadfast. Zoro believes what he’s saying. You know he’d never lie to you, but the look on his face makes you almost believe him.Â
“Thanks,” you say flatly.
“Oi, you don’t believe me?”
“No, I just,” you heave a heavy sigh. “I’ll believe it when I see it.” A pause. “Or do it, I guess?” You shrug.
You finally look to your side and meet his eyes. He’s already looking at you, as if his eyes never left your form. His expression is warm and almost gentle as his gaze flickers from your features to your eyes, he’s completely different from his usual hardened exterior.Â
And then something in your periphery catches his eye. Zoro reaches forward and dislodges a piece of grass from your hair. As he does, you feel a trace of his warmth radiating off him. He’s shifted somewhat closer to you to reach forward, and you blush at the sudden proximity. As he twists the blade between his finger and thumb, he freezes, his cheeks turning red as he realizes what he just did.Â
“I-I’m sorry! You just had something in your hair!”
“No! No! It’s okay!” you say a little too loudly. Your voice comes out scratchy from your previous sobs and you clear your throat before continuing. “T-Thank you. There’s probably a bunch of grass in my hair. Should’ve brought a blanket or something.” You give him an awkward half-smile to hopefully ease the awkwardness.
“Y-yeah.” His eyes dart to the ground.Â
“Is-is there a bunch in the back?” You ask softly, tentatively trying to keep the moment platonic, to alleviate any of this new tension and return to your usual dynamic. You turn your back to him, moving carefully to avoid opening the stitches on your wound.
“A lot.”
A pause before you continue, “C-could you help me, um, picking it all out?”
When a few too many seconds pass without a response, you turn your head. Oh god, you shouldn’t have said anything, you think as you burn with humiliation. “Only if you’re okay! You don’t have-“
“I’ll do it,” he cuts you off quickly, almost eagerly. “But I can’t promise I’ll get everything,” he grumbles.
You give him a half smile in return. “Thanks.” Your voice comes out very soft like a whisper.
You return to your previous position, back facing Zoro. After a couple seconds you hear him heave a shaky breath. Is he also bothered by this new air between you two? Is he unable to pinpoint the cause for this tautness, as if a thin rope is being pulled too hard, ready to split from the pressure?Â
You feel him gently tug at the strands of your hair, beginning at the bottom, his touch barely perceptible to you. But as he ventures further into your tresses, he grows bolder, bringing his body closer to better inspect your hair, to get a better reach.Â
As he continues, he’s careful not to miss a single blade of grass, and as he works, his fingertips brush against your shoulders, the curve of your back, your shoulderblades, your spine. Every touch is a tug at the rope, a blazing fire that burns your skin but settles in the most intimate parts of you. You’re embarrassed, guilty even to feel this way about him, knowing he doesn’t return your–what would you call this? Feelings? Attraction? Your belly flips at the prospect of developing feelings for one of your crewmates, the one you trust the most.Â
When he says he’s done you twist around to face him, your eyes meeting as you realize truly how close he is. Mere inches away, you can feel the heat radiating off him.
Zoro’s eyes fly from your lips to your eyes, but you noticed. He was thinking about it, too. With a sudden boldness, or newfound confidence from the hint that maybe he feels the same way you do, you lean into his space. You’re barely an inch away from him now, you watch his face closely, looking for a sign that he is uncomfortable, that he doesn’t want this. Something to tell you to back off and go back to being friends, to stop whatever you’re about to start.Â
Zoro doesn’t shy away from the proximity, in fact he seems to lean closer, you’re about to brush your lips against his, but he beats you to it in one swift motion, gently pressing his lips against yours. It takes you a moment to realize he’s kissed you, you didn’t kiss him.Â
Before you have time to respond, he pulls back, cutting the kiss short. You feel him begin to lean away, to put more distance between you two, but you take hold of his chin, keeping him near. You press your forehead against his, eyes half lidded, breaths mingling together in the small space between you. You take hold of each side of his head, fingertips spreading to cover as much skin as possible, your thumb caressing his heated cheeks. He releases a shaky breath as if he’s been holding his breath this entire time, his whole life.Â
He places his palm on your hand, and then leans into your touch. When he does, the tension in his face and body relaxes so much that he seems to be asleep. He opens his eyes to meet your gaze, but he can’t hold it, too overwhelmed with the gravity of what just happened, of what is happening. He flickers between the grassy floor and your flushed face, unable to hold your gaze for too long lest he combust. He can’t lose control. Not now.
“I’ve-I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” he’s barely audible.Â
“Why didn’t you say anything before?” You whisper.Â
“I didn’t-I don’t want to mess this up.”
“What do you mean?”Â
“I-I’m never-I’ve not been good at,” he takes a deep breath, “at this stuff. And when I mess up, I’ll lose you.”
Zoro still won’t meet your eyes. You study his face for a moment, taking in his features in this uncharacteristically calm state, memorizing it in case this is the last time you’ll see him like this.Â
You kiss him this time, tender but more sure than the first. You keep your hands on him, but move from his cheeks to his chin to his neck, tracing his skin in slow motions as you press deeper into the kiss. It takes him a second to realize this isn’t a dream, but he responds by tilting his head, cupping your face to press ever deeper.Â
You pull away this time, breathless but sure. Zoro’s hands move to your hair, putting a piece behind your ear before he follows the strand to its end. He twists it softly in his fingers, his head is full of you, your touch, your warmth, your smell, your breaths mixing with his. He’s lost in you.Â
His half lidded eyes finally meet yours, less doubt than before.Â
“When you mess up,” he holds his breath, preparing for the worst. “We’ll have to work together and figure it out. When I mess up-“
“You won’t-you couldn’t-“
“When I mess up, we’ll do the same thing. Work on it together. You and me, yeah?” You find your hands have ended up on his shoulders and you take the opportunity to wrap your arms around his neck, solidifying your words.Â
“You and me?”Â
“If you’ll have me,” you smile.Â
He smiles, heartfelt, newly reassured. He nods.Â
“And you? Will I have you?” You ask
“You’ve always had me.”

The kiss begins with such sweet tenderness and hesitation. Zoro is unsure this is even reality. It’s shameful because you two were friends, crew mates for so long. For so long, you found comfort in each other. You spent restless nights at sea, watching the stars, until you both fell asleep. Countless adventures watching out for one another, caring for each other when injured. Laughing and drinking together during the endless post-danger parties. Zoro felt guilty when he dreamed of you underneath him, bodies slick with sweat as he fucked into you over and over. He’d wake up and avoid you the entire morning, day even. He couldn’t bear to look at you after having defiled you, even if it was in his subconscious.Â
But this is real. The heat doesn’t fade, it builds on his lips as you press even deeper. As he realizes you’re kissing him back, he gently cradles your head in his hands, fingertips brushing against your hair as he takes hold of you. When he pulls you even closer, he feels your chest press against his. Your arms stay on his chest at first until tentatively snaking up to his neck and broad shoulders, pulling him ever closer and deeper. He feels you explore and tangle in his hair and he can’t help but groan.Â
After hearing him, you prod his lips with your tongue, and he eagerly obliges. The kiss becomes messy as the two go you succumb to the heat, chasing it, desperate for each other’s touch, scent, taste. Building and building until it’s suffocating.
When your lungs begin to burn, you pull away, but remain mere inches apart. Both of your hot breaths mixing together in the air as he presses his forehead against yours. His hand is still cradling your head, the other around your waist.Â
Your hands return to his chest as you both take a moment to catch your breaths and process what just happened. It felt like a dream, but the touch, the pressure of your hands on his chest, his around your waist and cheek, the heat flushing your cheeks and pooling in your stomach, it was all too real to deny. It was relieving and terrifying. What would happen next? What of your friendship? Everything could be ruined or everything could be gained.Â
Your feelings for each other were brewing so slowly, like a pot to boil, it was unnoticeable and harmless at first. It felt like a deepening friendship, a mutual understanding, but then the pot boiled over and now what?
“I’ve,” Zoro pauses, thinking his words carefully or if he should even say anything at all. It was too late anyway, the silence was broken so he had to continue. “I’ve wanted to do that for a long time.”
You look at him through hooded lids. His eyes are closed, his face is still flushed and his breathing begins to return to normal. But you still can feel his heartbeat racing.
“Me too,” you say softly.Â
That’s when he looks at you with tender eyes, something you’ve never seen on Zoro before. He begins to stroke your cheek with his calloused thumb softly in slow, smooth motions. You smile up at him.Â
 “I’m an idiot.”Â
“I think we’re both idiots.” You feel his chest rumble slightly as he chuckles softly.
“Ok, we’re both idiots.”
A/n: thoughts??? First time writing x reader :p I love imagining Zoro as tender sweet boy
Summary: gojo gradually ghosting you because he thinks he doesn’t deserve you and that it’d be easier for you in case something happened to him.
wc: 1k [ masterlist ]
cw: gojo x gn!reader, angst, sfw
In the last six months you’ve seen him a handful of times. You know he’s been busy, being the strongest sorcerer and all that. You were used to that. You’d been dating for a year, friends for even longer. He’s been busy before, but not like this.Â
Before, you didn’t have to wait longer than an hour for a response, like you were the most important thing in his life, like he couldn’t go even an hour without you. But now days would pass without hearing from him. You’d ask him how his day went and he’d respond two days later with a “sorry, things are fine. Busy. wby?” Like you were a coworker or someone he barely knew.Â
The last time you got him on a call felt more like talking to an accidental wrong number, awkward and stilted with fake politeness.
Gojo was halfway across the country when he got the call. He had been awake for nearly 40 hours, keeping himself busy any way he could so he didn’t have to think about you, what he was doing to you. He figured this would be easier than breaking things off officially. This way, you’d hate him and never want to see him again. At least, he hoped so.Â
When he got your call, he figured it was something business related, a higher up, some clerk needing him to finish up paperwork, or another mission. He was so eager, so sleep deprived, he didn’t even check the caller ID before he answered.Â
“Yeah?”
“Satoru?” He thought he was dreaming at first. The warm familiarity of your voice felt like home, his shoulders immediately sagged in relief, a sigh escaping him before he could stop himself. It was so hard not to just start over, apologize and run home to you, your arms, your warmth.Â
“Y/n?” he asked dumbly.Â
A short pause. “Were you expecting someone else?”
“Um,” Gojo finally checked the caller ID. He wasn’t dreaming. This was real. “No.”
“Right.”
“I-I mean—I was expecting someone else. I was waiting to hear back from…” name someone, quick, anyone, make up a name. Goddamnit anything!
“Satoru?”
“Y/n?” He could punch himself. He will once this call was over.Â
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
It was like a bucket of cold water was dropped on his head. “N-No, y/n I’ve been really busy lately and I’m trying to get some time off. I really am but these higher ups-“
“You’re lying.”
“I know it sounds bad, but I promise-“
“I’m not an idiot.”
“I’m not saying-“ he cuts himself short when he hears a faint, choked sob.
You couldn’t help yourself. You knew this was coming, but even still you were hoping, really hoping he’d change and things would go back go the way they were. You knew he was capable of loving you, taking care of you, being there for you like a partner should. Then the past few months, he just stopped like he forgot, like he was trying to forget a mistake. You weren’t stupid, but you hoped for so long until this call when he couldn’t mask his voice, not anymore.Â
Once the tears started, you couldn’t stop them.Â
"What did I do wrong?" It was the only thing you could think of to explain his sudden coldness. In this moment, all your fears and doubts and insecurities bubbled to the surface, and you couldn’t stop it.Â
Gojo pauses, his heart breaking as yours is. He hates how much he’s hurting you, but he has to protect you. With how things are going, he’ll only get busier and the job will only get more and more dangerous. He won’t be able to be there for you like he used to. He can’t be the partner or give you the life you deserve. It would be easier, safer for you to stop worrying about him, stop caring. He didn’t know how else to protect your heart, prevent your grief when the inevitable happens.Â
“Nothing. You did nothing wrong.” Gojo’s voice was soft but clear.Â
“Then why? Why won’t you talk to me?” Your voice is like a pathetic whine, barely able to speak through your sobs.Â
A long pause.Â
“I miss you.”
“Y/n, I’m sorry.” He pauses, fighting his own tears. “I-“ He swallows as his voice breaks. “This was a mistake.”
“What? Satoru?” Your voice is barely audible as you gasp for breath between sobs.
“I’m sorry. It would’ve been better to stay as friends.”
“Satoru.” Your voice breaks as your cries become more intense, choking in your throat. You can barely breathe.Â
“I’ll see you around, Hida. Okay?” His voice is so sickeningly calm, you feel a mix of rage and disgust and humiliation.Â
You don’t respond. You can’t even think. Instead, you put your phone at arms length, trying to conceal your crying. Or maybe to put distance between yourself and the reality of the moment.Â
But it’s useless. He can hear everything and this is happening no matter what you do.Â
“Okay?” He says after a few moments. You barely hear him with his quiet tone and the phone being so far away.Â
“Okay,” you murmur.Â
“Bye, y/n.”
"Bye, Satoru."
He hangs up first, eager to end the call and be alone.Â
You bring your knees to your face and hold yourself, clutching and clawing at your knees and shoulders. Your whole body shakes as each wave of cries wracks through you. You try to hold yourself tighter and tighter, squeezing desperately for comfort, for something to relieve this moment. Instead, your skin turns red, breaking in some areas as you scratch and squeeze and clutch and grip.
Gojo hangs his head when the call is over. He feels his tears go cold on his cheeks and he wipes them away with the back of his hand. He quickly gets another call, a mission is assigned and he breathes a heaving sigh.Â
After the night’s work, he goes back to his hotel room and finally weeps.

“And you? Will I have you?”
“You’ve always had me.”
These words feel more like a confession than anything else he’s said or done tonight.
Your stomach flips again and your head feels hot and light from the gravity of everything that’s changed in just a few hours. You spend a few seconds looking at him dumbly, completely blissed out from affection and kisses.
“Always?”
“Always.” He nods.
Surprising even yourself, you kiss him and push him back into the grass. His back hits the ground with a small “mmph!” And you take the opportunity, kissing his open mouth and exploring him with your tongue. Despite the rush of this change in position, you’re still gentle and slow, almost teasingly so, just in case this is too much.
He groans into your mouth, his tongue taking a moment to wrestle with yours, tasting you in a sloppy mess of hot breaths, spit, and swollen lips. You feel his hands trail up from your hips to your waist, where he wraps his arms around you and pulls you flush against him.
You’re almost straddling him now, one leg bent on his side, the other resting between his legs where you can feel the heat of his arousal against your thigh. In adjusting your position, you accidentally grind your hips into his, feeling HIM against your core. You gasp from the sudden friction, feeling a slick, wet, heat pool between your legs. You hear him try to suppress a groan, but a low, choked noise escapes him.
“I-I’m sorry-“
“N-no, you’re fine,” his voice is low. He brushes some hair out of your face, giving him a better view of your flushed cheeks and blown out eyes. He’s mesmerized by you, that he gets to have you like this. “You’re perfect,” he mumbles mostly to himself. You barely hear him, so much so that you think you imagined it.
He cups your cheek and pulls you back down in a deep kiss, savoring you this time. He takes hold of your hips, grip firm but not bruising to hold you in place as tentatively, slowly bucks up into you. You both gasp at the friction, his thick, hard length rubbing against your cunt through your clothes. He can feel how aroused you are and the thought makes him soar, biting back a groan as he deepens your kiss, tasting your lip and biting gently.
You roll your hips, desperate for more friction, to feel him against you again. The two of you quickly find a rhythm, grinding into each other, chasing the building heat.
However, you forgot your bandages and after a particularly deep roll of your hips, you felt your stitches tug and a sharp pain shot through your side. You hiss and pull back, sitting up, your hand pressing against your side.
“Whats wrong?” Zoro’s breathless, lips swollen and face flushed deep red but his eyes are wide with concern now.
“My side. I forgot.”
He sits up to meet you, hands hovering over you not sure how to help, afraid to touch you and hurt you.
“Did I-?” This was something he feared, not saying in control of his strength and hurting you without realizing.
“No. No. I overextended, like I stretched too much and I think I pulled at some stitches.”
He sighs in relief and his hands rest gingerly on your hips, absentmindedly kneading the soft flesh through your clothes. You didn’t realize but you’re straddling him now, plopped in his lap as you check for bleeding.
“Are you-?”
“I’m bleeding a little but I don’t think the stitches opened.” You unravel your bandages just enough to glimpse your wound. “Might need new bandages just to be safe.”
You look at Zoro and he’s been watching you closely, scanning your face for any hint of pain, your bandages for bleeding, anywhere for a sign of discomfort.
“I’m okay.”
“I know.”
“I don’t think you believe me,” you smirk at him.
He rolls his eyes but in good humor. His features are still softened compared to his usual rough exterior. “Can I see?”
It’s your turn to roll your eyes as he comes in closer. He handles you delicately, his touch barely a whisper, as he verifies your assessment.
“Okay,” he says and his shoulders sag from the relief, knowing you’re okay.
You wrap your arms around his neck, hands resting on the back of his head as you pull him close. He settles into your neck, closing his eyes as he breathes in the scent of you, your hair tickling his nose as it creates a sort of cage around him. “We should probably go to bed.”
He hums softly in response, already half asleep wrapped in your arms. It feels criminal to leave this embrace and return to reality, back to your bed and him in his. Everything has changed so much in this bubble the two of you created, built on yearning, discovery, and affection. But your side is throbbing, reminding you it needs attention and inevitably, disgustingly reality must be dealt with.
You start to shift as you ready yourself to stand up. The movement makes Zoro stir. He was definitely asleep for a bit, and in his half awake state his hands instinctively hold fast onto your plush hips, keeping you in place in his lap.
“Zoro.”
“Okay, okay, okay,” he grumbles into your hair as he loosens his grip.
As you lift yourself, Zoro shifts out from under you and stands up in one swift motion. He offers his hands, and you smile knowingly, taking it. He lifts you up like you weigh nothing, almost flinging you to your feet.
He never lets go of your hand as the two of you return to the crew’s quarters in Galley-La. The two of you walked in comfortable silence, you breathing in the night air, still wet from the storm a few days ago, but now it feels so far long ago. The world as you knew it seems so small, so minuscule compared to how completely secure you feel knowing what you know now, after what you two did. You know you’ll have to talk about it tomorrow, or you may not. Whatever comes, you know you’ll have Zoro there with you, in spirit or body, and that makes you feel more powerful than ever before.
a/n: how we feel? I’m nervous writing more suggestive/smutty stuff cuz I’ve never done it before.
