Advice, from someone who used to have to leave her cats for a week at a time - put down several large water containers. We used to fill large saucepans and place them in different places around the room. That way, if one gets dirty or spilt, they still have heaps of fresh.
Oh yes -- they’ve got two bowls of food, one small, one large in a different place, and three water dishes -- a small one near the food mat, a fountain in the living room, and a tip-proof large bowl in the hall.
I still have vague and terrible worries about turning on kitten-cam to find that one of them is like, BLEEDING PROFUSELY or unconscious or something worse, but the odds of that happening are low. Worst case scenario, I can call the emergency number for the building and ask the really nice maintenance guy to help me.

You can play escape rooms online??
Escape rooms were INVENTED online! When Flash was first big they were popular point-and-click games, and remain so to this day. You click on the sofa to lift the cushion and get a key, that kind of thing.
If you google “escape the room online game” you will come across hundreds of them with varying degrees of quality and narrative structure; they’re fairly easy to build so a lot of people use them as tools to learn various game programming techniques.
Some of my favorites are the Rusty Lake series -- they’re super creepy and sometimes downright scary, and a bit gory at times, but the creep factor for me is part of the appeal. (Some are paid, some are free.)

With all the reading and research I've done, I'm pretty sure I have it. I need to set up an appointment, not for any intervention, but because my son has it and is struggling with coping mechanisms. And seeing SO much of myself in him, I think it'd really help him to know that he isn't alone. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to tell him that one of my favorite writers has ADHD. He's always pleased to hear of people like him, especially storytellers.
Well, I don’t want to claim a disability I don’t have, if it turns out my diagnosis is something else, but I don’t mind you telling him -- and even if I don’t have actual ADHD, I do struggle with executive function and organization, so in terms of dealing with problems, it’s sort of all one in the end, I think. The names are different but the struggles are similar. And say hi to him from me! (And tell him to persevere!)
