Omg changing on a bus was difficult enough.  Changing while the bus was still moving was even worse.  Especially on longer trips where everyone has backpacks filled with stuff to do and snacks and the smaller instruments are on the buses with you and there is like almost no space and nearly everyone is trying to change something.

You sleep on each other and don’t even blush at it by the end of your first year in band.  You change in front of each other.  You don’t even flinch when someone is sitting in front of you in the stands and starts using your knees as a backrest without asking.  You wind up going home with blankets that aren’t yours and you give away your gloves to trumpet players who forget theirs during night practices.  You manage a 2+ hour bus ride home sitting on the floor of a bus with another band member’s knees digging into your back because your bus won’t start.  It’s not strange for horsing around outside the bandroom to end with random seniors using your legs for pillows when you’re just trying to read a chapter of your homework.
