Sept 9, 2022: Oh Fuck Mid-Autumn Festival is tomorrow and I haven't made my annual experimental mooncake yet! *assembles ingredients in a rush with a background of faint screaming*
Fortunately I had a bag of frozen peaches and 2 bottles of specialty local ginger beer made with wild ginger called tuhau that really packs a flavour punch
I also poked in a piece of peach cube into the centres of the blended peach "filling" to pretend it's a yolk cause I don't feel like messing around with a chocolate truffle "yolk" this year.
These are my mooncake jelly molds for this year, it's not silicone but it's flexible enough plastic that you can eventually pop out a jelly after carefully running a thin knife around the edges
Some sentences exclaimed/yelled while pouring in the ginger beer "crust":
Goddamn bubbles!
Are you....are you fucking floating?! Stop moving!
Stop going off centered while I move the molds!
Stay there!
Stop bobbing!
Sept 10 unmolding.
Quartered.
This jelly will forcibly cleanse your palate, despite my adding brown sugar and a pinch of salt to offset how Stronk the tuhau taste is, phew!
