Tomorrow People 1x18 || Smoke And Mirrors
I don't have much to say about the episode except a semi-lengthy commentary on the dynamics between Stephen&Cara&John.
To be fair, I don't like Cara. Like at all. So pardon me if you happen to like her character. This is just my personal opinion, and I wanted to voice it somehow.
It seems, to me, that she's simply stringing John along because she can't have Stephen, and John is very dear to me (he's my bby). There's one moment in this episode in particular that I literally shouted "shut up!" at the screen and it's a line from Cara:
"I think we're losing him."
And to that, my only (aloud) comment was "shut up!"
Cara thinks they're losing Stephen to ULTRA because he's sleeping with Hillary (which is a couple that I would love to see develop further because I'm really starting to like them). Okay, so he's sleeping with a coworker, most people would say that really isn't a big deal.
My problem with this line isn't that she makes a big deal out of nothing (which she does, just pointing that out) but that Cara is supposed to be with John, not pining over Stephen. This isn't about them losing him to ULTRA. This is about Cara not being able to say "oh, I have two guys who like me!"
Honestly, if she's going to be with John (a pairing that I do not like for numerous reasons), she should both physically and emotionally be with John - not fucking John and then screwing him over when she has the chance with Stephen. If she doesn't want to emotionally connect with John (which she hasn't been doing lately, or really at all in the series), then she should tell him this and break up with him.
If her problem is with Stephen sleeping with someone else (someone he might actually have a chance with who isn't in a relationship with someone else), then she either needs to say it or get over it because I've been done with Cara's shit since day one.
death thougths - The Tomorrow People
I think if John dies Stara will happen and that'd be horrible because that would mean Cara never really cared for John. John is the second hero of the show and it’d be a pity to lose him. If he has to die I want a big & intense Jara moment before he passes away and I want everyone to remember him. Cara should keep leading The Tomorrow People in his memory honor. She should look after Charlotte like a mum. If Cara dies many people would party but not me. The show would lose an amazing character, a deep, awesome warrior girl. John might get together with Astrid if Cara dies and that would suck (same reason said above). Stephen can hardly die because he’s the main male character. Astrid I don’t see her diying. Russel, they need him to stay alive for his humor role. His past can be a key plot that might lead him to death. Jedikiah might die because he redeems himself. Not gonna quit TTP anyway.
