If you like your indie rock to be served a la 1990s then allow me introduce Hariguem Zaboy (Bangkok, Thailand). "John Young Sandwich" was the band's final LP released in 2021. A couple of tracks were mixed by Wharton Tiers, while Tim Green (Nation of Ulysses, Louder Studios based in Grass Valley, California) mixed the rest. That's some serious credibility there.
The band moves between sounding like Pavement, and Sonic Youth. They used to play live with Khana Bierbood - the only other Thai band covered on this blog.
John Young was an astronaut who apparently smuggled a corned beef sandwich onto the Gemini 3 spaceflight. Pretty cool that his name and claim to fame are both immortalized by a Thai indie rock band/album title.
This was released on LP by Flaxxist Records.
