Okay my biggest thing here is that it's waaaay too coincidental for Kanzis to have a premonition of the future when Clayman is changing the timeline due to his knowledge of the future. That's a parallel we simply can't ignore.

So immediately I began to wonder if it was related to Kanzis now being tied to Clayman (which would suggest more than a contract, it would suggest Clayman did indeed take his heart despite our recent discussions against this theory).

But even if he did, Clayman doesn't actually have any powers that let him see into the future. He only knows what he does because he was there (twice), so he wouldn't know anything about what Kanzis foresaw. In fact, Clayman's knowledge is strictly memory based - he doesn't know things he can't remember, very specifically. So it seems like it would be odd for Kanzis to have a premonition as a result of his connection to Clayman.

So I can't quite make a meta based connection there, but the parallel is too strong to ignore. I would prefer not to believe that it's a convenient plot device...but if it were related to Clayman, you'd think other subordinates would have had something similar happen by now...?

It would also be super OP if those connected to Clayman received premonitions as part of his skillset and again there's not any support for that...yet.

The only other explanation I could come up with would be that Kanzis is becoming able to recognize how toxic the eastern empire is, but...he had a super vivid dream that reflected the og timeline exactly (afaik) so...that falls really short.
