Whatever could be cooking here ? $ strahd

In the 15 years my partner and I have been together, I’ve gotten used to finding myself in the thanking notes when she’s written something ever since her Master’s thesis. Because often enough she comes to me in need of a sounding board. Just as often I just sit there and nod – or I tilt my head when I have no idea what she’s getting at, causing her to rephrase/rethink until I do. Then she leaves with the words “Thank you! That was so much help” even though I haven’t said a peep. Earlier on I felt like nothing more than one of these bobbleheads (yeah, I used to be intimidated. She was an academic and I only have the barest of school education. I’ve learned pretty quickly, though, that I can ask her questions without being judged). Another reason why she was and still is grateful is the fact that I keep her fed when she’s deep in one or the other project (ho boy, hungry femme turning into a hangry femme? Um, no thank you! I also like to stick to my schedule ;)).
