starting to notice my skin healing in certain ways. im so happy 😁
For a long time, I felt like I was drowning and never cared to see the surface especially with my skin looking how it did. I rarely went outside. I spent most of my time researching how to get rid of eczema. You simply can't. As angry as I am with doctors for giving us the quick fix, it has enlightened us to a new path.. To face eczema head on. Topical steroid withdrawal effects can have similar experiences a drug addict goes through. Except our detox is through our skin, the one thing you can't hide. I can only encourage you to swim closer to the shore everyday and if you're not ready to swim stay underwater as long as you need to but don't stay there for too long. You need to breathe. There's no escaping you're skin but you can learn to Love your scales day by day and swim to the shore when you're ready. You're eczema family is waiting for you! If anyone needs to vent. I'm here. You don't have to go through this alone. #tsw #redskinsyndrome #itsan #eczema #eczemawarrior #eczemarelief #elephantskin #topicalsteroidaddiction #topicalsteroidwithdrawal #eczemahealing #eczemahealingjourney
If there’s one thing I learned from TSW is that everyday is a challenge but instead of letting that intimidate me, I grew to accept that my skin was healing every day. I could only help but to learn to love my skin again. Day by day. I grew up hating my skin &wondering if it’ll ever end. Whether you’ve chosen to go through TSW or another routine, the goal is to do what works best for you.. but be patient along the way. This journey with our skin is a long one but one I believe every one with a skin issue has to face. Just a little motivation to get your day started! Forget how it looks for a second and remember how you feel. Recognize your strength!
Tune in tomorrow at 10:30am EST. I'd really appreciate it. I'll be talking about my journey with eczema. Please share with anyone you know with skin related issues. Thank you. #eczema #tswwarrior #topicalsteroidwithdrawal #metaderm #eczemawarrior #eczemawarriorprincess

2nd post
Hello, it has literally been over a year since I first posted.. I'm currently 2 years and 3 months into my tsw. I've been through many, many ups and downs throughout this period of time and all in all this process can be very exhausting. The first thing I want to say is DO NOT USE VASELINE AS A MOISTURIZER! ITS REALLY REALLY BAD FOR YOU PLEASE. I didn't know this in the beginning because I didn't do my research, but trust me if you just google it you'll stay far far away from that stuff. What you should be using is all natural ingredients. ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR HANDS THANK YOU. I actually ended up making my own homemade lotion out of Shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, almond oil, beeswax, honey and some other things. It doesn't burn when I apply it to my skin & lessens the reddish color, along with giving my skin needed nutrients. If you're making your own lotion make sure to only use 100% all natural or raw ingredients, read the labels please! people have tried to make me use LUSH products because they claim to be all natural but if you do your research you'll see that they have a lot of added perfumes and ingredients that could pose as possible irritants to your fragile skin. All store brand lotions are designed to make your skin dry so you essentially will keep coming back for more.. basically making your skin addicted, which is so messed up to me but that's how the majority of health care products in our country work, in a way. I don't know for sure how much longer until I'm fully healed but I'm certain that once I get through this set back its home free the rest of the way. Also I've gone gluten, wheat, dairy,& mostly soy free since my last/first post. it was hard giving up all the breads and baked goodies at first, I was devastated because those were the key ingredients to my horrid diet. Eventually I found out about everything free cookies and cakes of all sorts and I'm happy again. Of course everyone and every gluten/dairy/wheat free product is different and you may react negatively to one brand and be fine with the next, it takes some trial and error. One of my favorite brands is Pamela's, they have a chocolate cookie mix that I love, especially because you can mix in walnuts and pecans and whatever else you want. Since my change of diet I've gone from size 4-5 to a size 0 in pants, which is pretty good but I also lost it in cup size from a good sized c to a borderline a cup. Sad thing about being healthy and losing weight is you don't get to choose where the fat comes off. When people first look at me they don't expect me to eat as much as I do but boy I can eat! Before tsw I already was eating large portions but since your body goes through a lot of healing and peeling, you constantly need sustenance which means tsw essentially boosted my appetite and metabolism like crazy. I can eat a giant plate of food and be completely starved like a few hours later. It got so bad to the point that my own mother thought I was pregnant lol. To say the least tsw takes a huge toll on your body inside and out. Thanks for reading, hopefully my next post won't be years later. -tswwarrior girl ✌🏾
TSW & Eczema
1st post.
Welcome my warriors. I am currently in my 9th month of my topical steroid withdrawal journey and for those of you who are going through this you know how hard & emotional this can be. esp. when you're flaming red in the face and in various other areas of your body and you just want to hide in a whole for a year or until you look like a normal human being again instead of a red disfigured monster. Well whatever stage/ month you're in I applaud you for choosing the steroid free route, although it's very rough and horrid in the beginning I swear it gets easier as time goes by. I no longer have a beat red/oozing face and look like a normal being. I still have patches on my elbows, knees, and in the bend of both my elbows/knees. my face is only flakey above my lip occasionally & on my eye lids. my hands are also flakey and pink but no longer appear swollen/like someone put it in a blender. I am not on any type of diet but I naturally don't drink anything but juice and water, lots of water. I also don't go out to eat very often because I don't have the financial ability to do so. I spent the first few months in hiding as they were the worst. my skin was very flakey and oozing/weeping underneath. It eventually ceased over a few weeks and with the use of CLn body washhttp://www.clnwash.com/cln-body-wash.html it helped dry up the weeping and kill the infection/staph that you have on your skin. It did sting while I used it so I don't recommend it for babies or small children. I dreaded using it but it was the only way I could make my skin stop being all weepy and so I could sleep without laying a towel on my pillow. I also stopped using cerave, eucerine, dove, aquaphor, aveeno, or any creams or soaps on my skin because they would dry it out so much and I didn't want to use any harmful ingredients on my skin. I now use all natural soaps fromhttp://www.chagrinvalleysoapandsalve.com/products/for-the-body/ I usually get the one with oatmeal and honey or goats milk. I also just use vaseline to moisturize because I don't trust anything else. If anyone has any ideas/methods/secrets I'm willing to try them. If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to ask away. (: peace out - tswwarriorgirl
