I found the book trailer I made last year! Unfortunately, it was the wrong format and I couldn't find a free converter, so ya boy remade it. I'm not a professional, please be gentle.

I know it's not unusual to have more than one perspective in novels. What I hope I've done by writing the way I do, one side from the heroes and one side from the villains (in a three and one chapter alternation), is contribute to my world building by showing that no one just wakes up evil. A series of terrible circumstances makes someone monstrous, and it could happen to almost anyone. Some were easier to sway, of course.
The villain side gets one chapter because we will never know it all. We see their downtime, we get moments where their guard is down and something seeps from the many cracks in their brokenness. I feel a benefit that the perspective is from a teenage boy who regularly misunderstands the complex emotions and motives of the older, more worldly men around him. His arc is a downfall. He is being radicalised. He dismisses and ignores the one person there who fears for his future. He dismisses someone his own age who can speak to him as an equal.
Rubi, my MC, is surrounded by people who love her even on her worst days. She has nothing to prove, they're in this together. She isn't a chosen one. She's a cog in a world with multiple chosen ones in different machines, but her drive supports the structure. I love her, maybe because I don't feel like the main character in my own life (therapy is expensive), and I dream of having a smidge of control in my own adventure.
Anyway, sorry.
Tldr: I wrote a thing to make you think and take you on an adventure because I'm stuck in my own head.
I don't know if it's time to give up. Maybe I'll let my querytracker run out, finish the trilogy and then try again? I haven't queried in a few months and while it's been a break from the heartache of rejections, it doesn't feel good either. I know I've got something unique, accomplished authors have told me I'm not wasting my time with this, but I don't think it's on trend and that's a risk. I promised myself I'd finish it before I made any rash decisions. I can find a way to make my query stand out. It has to be possible. It's can't be impossible, right? Am I the perfect combination of stupid and useless? I can't be. Querying is harder than writing. Marketing is harder than writing. Trying to get word of mouth recommendations is harder than writing. I don't know how to make this work when I feel so exhausted all the time.
It's my 1 year anniversary on Tumblr š„³
