😴 - What's a dream project you'd love to create about Cassian?

I've started writing bits and pieces of this, but it would definitely be a fic that allows me to do all the Illyrian worldbuilding that's in my head but not yet on paper (as much). One day I'll start posting this new Human!Nesta & Illyrian!Cassian fic (when my other long wips are done). I just love the idea of deep diving into different cultures I think would work well as a framework for Illyria, from architecture and art to customs, clothing, language, etiquette, politics, and more. Everything SJM didn't give us, more or less. This would also allow me to dive into his youth, his relationship with his mother, and dissect his issues. Delicious. (But enormous and I can't do that while also juggling 10 other wips, I can't)

When you learn to refocus and rescope your Ambitious Dream Project, "the worst that could happen is that you become a better writer."

So Kat used to work as a police officer at her home town in Indiana. She grew up always wanting to help people, in fact she met her best friend Natalie while helping stand up to the girls that were bullying her. One day while she was out on the job, she got shot on the chest. But the bullet bounced right off. She found out that day that she was a Super. Normally people find out much younger than that, but her parents always just thought she was a resilient kid. Anyway after that her boss and her parents encouraged her to apply to the Guild of Supers to become a Super Hero. They go over her application and pay for her to fly out for an interview. Kat is convinced she’s going to be accepted, so she packs up everything she has and temporarily moves in with Natalie in NYC (Natalie had moved there a few years prior to fulfill her dreams of becoming a ballerina). But when she shows up for her interview they deny her. Now she’s stuck in NYC with all her stuff at her best friend’s apartment. Natalie agrees to let her stay with her until Kat can think up some kind of plan. Her first step is to get a job. She applies at a police station in the city, but during the interview a bomb goes off in the station. It sends the building collapsing, and Kat is the only survivor. With no leads other than the knowledge that the bomb was placed inside a Mr. Potato Head bomb, Kat becomes obsessed with solving this mystery. Everything else gets put in the back burner as she dives deeper and deeper into the case. But finding the truth and bringing the culprit to justice would be a lot easier if she had the resources of a Super. And, since she’s not, the Guild keeps telling her to stay out of it for her own safety, and the safety of others. On top of all this Natalie doesn’t support her mission either. She sees that Kat has become unhealthily obsessed and she fears for her safety. Which drives Kat crazy. If she’s invincible, she can’t be hurt, right?

Also shortly upon arriving in the city Kat meets a guy named Sawyer, and the two instantly hit it off. I can’t say much about him without sharing too much of the story. But he’s my poor tortured boy and I love him so much 😣

And I forgot to reply to one of the questions you had early so I’ll answer it here. When you asked if everyone’s a Super and it’s a normal occurrence, or if Supers are rare, and if Supers have to hide accept when they’re with the Guild. So Supers aren’t necessarily rare, but it’s not like most people are Supers. Though I will say there’s enough SuperHeroes that they’re not quite as needed as they used to be. They’re still a largely respected entity, however. But there’s no longer a need for them to keep their identities secret. There’s no threat in the world knowing who you are. In fact, everyone who knows they are a Super are required by law to register themselves. And official entities, such as police officers, can assess these records at any time. This plays into a larger part of the world building that unfortunately I can’t sure just yet.

PLANET OF THE TOONS POSTER DESIGN FANART GALLERY: PART ONE

It was around the very beginning of 2022, on January 4th, and that was during the last years of the COVID-19 pandemic, that I began to conceive the idea to develop, write, and even one day be able to produce and/or direct some kind of an envisioned 'toon-fantasy' epic to be titled "Planet of the Toons".

At this present time, it may concern the epic journey of an astronaut named David Zarus along with two of his shipmates from Earth on a distant Earth-like planet peopled with cartoon characters from all across animation history and its 2d hand drawn past and legacy, on a quest to help and protect the three Mousekewitz siblings Fievel, Tanya, and Yasha (from An American Tail and Fievel Goes West) from the wrath of the cartoon planet's local tyrant, Mandark (Dexter's rival from Dexter's Laboratory and of Ego Trip infamy), whose evil empire, according to a prophecy, two of the mouse siblings, Fievel and Tanya, and a prospective human helping hand (David Zarus the astronaut) will ultimately topple (probably by reaching the Flow Controls on Dexter's greatest invention, probably the Neurotomic Protocore, and set them all the way to positive).

Presently, I am still working on the Planet of the Toons epic for four years now, and no, I still won't tell any of you exactly when I'm finished with my cartoon fantasy epic-in-progress, but we'll see about that one day, someday, maybe...
