#TSInktober Day 2! ft. @thatsthat24 personifying Fall 🍂

Was making a character and ended up looking like patton and virgil son. So I made them like that.

Hi everybody! This update is a little late (we were supposed to do it yesterday and then I forgot). If you read the last note then, just as a reminder, we are updating Monday’s and Thursdays with a comment goal of 10 per chapter. MY COMMENTS DO NOT COUNT AS PART OF THE OTHERS.

As usual this was beta read by Clam and the fun fact for this chapter is that I love writing cliffhangers whoops

Patton wandered the aisles of the grocery store, tossing the things on his list into his cart. A box of cereal, peanut butter, marshmallows, and a few other items that one may have questioned before he headed to the checkout lines.

He watched as the conveyor belt moved slowly towards the main register, longing to hurry up and go home. “That’s 30 dollars and 69 cents, sir. Would you like a bag?”

The man in front of Patton in line frowned. “I- I thought there were sales today. T-There were signs everywhere.”

“With the sales it comes down to 30 dollars and 69 cents.” The cashier informed the man, who looked sadly down at the items that had gathered at the end of the conveyor belt.

“I… Um, excuse me.” The man stepped to the side, looking through his wallet. “I’m sorry, I can’t afford that.”

Patton frowned. The man seemed to be around his age, but so much more frail. His bright yellow coat seemed to hang over his shoulders as if he were a hanger, and there appeared to be bags under his eyes that almost rivaled Virgil’s.

“I’ll pay. Add my things to the purchase, please.” Patton said, stepping up. “It’s okay.”

An older man behind Patton in line snickered. “He could have the money and just spend it on drugs. Has it occurred to you that he might be lying?” Patton glanced back at the customer behind him, his lips forming a thin line.

“He could be lying, sure. But if I can help it, I’d rather not stand here and watch a person suffer from our poor excuse of an economy.” Patton said, his voice calm but his words as sharp as a knife. “Now if you will let me make my own decisions, I’ll be out of your hair shortly.”

Logan can duplicate himself (more debate partners, two heads = better than 1, etc)

Deceit plays guitar

Virgil has weird sleeping patterns (waking up super early, staying up late, sleeping in, it varies)

Patton lost someone close to him once and Virgil reminds him of them

Roman is a huge D&D nerd

He convinces Virgil to play with him and makes Logan be the dungeon master

Virgil spends a lot of time creating his characters

Logan perfers suspense to outright gore/horror

Virgil takes a lot of internet quizzes

Deceit is very lonely

Patton knows how to sew

Virgil owns a dress and wears it sometimes in his room alone

Roman also owns a dress

Or two.

Or five.

And a makeup kit.

Virgil is a succulent gay

Roman is a cactus gay

Patton is forgetful and most of his plants are in varying stages of death

Logan accidentally clicks on a link to a fanfic and stays up all night reading

He denies it later but he and Roman fight over their OTPs

Deceit owns about million puzzle books

Logan does too and sometimes Deceit messes with them

Both Patton and Virgil have large piles of stuffed animals

Logan is a Film Fanatic 

Roman was a Horse Girl™

He once walked in on Virgil watching My Little Pony at 3am, sat down next to him, and marathoned with him. They’ve never spoken about it.

Virgil likes pancakes. Roman prefers waffles. Logan likes muffins and Patton eats kids’ cereal.

Logan’s room is actually really messy but at the same time he knows where everything is.

Logan read all the Marvel comic books as a kid

Patton can’t juggle at all or catch things.

Logan is a painter.

Virgil likes to draw (especially with charcoal)

Patton is really good on the clarinet, recorder, and flute

Roman is really, really bad at memorizing his lines and makes Logan help him.

Roman sings in the shower.

Virgil does too but quietly.

Deceit aka constant identity crisis

Logan actually doesn’t mind Deceit that much, he just doesn’t trust him.

Roman speaks most of the romance languages

Logan, Virgil, and Patton know sign language.

Sometimes when Roman’s being annoying Logan and Virgil complain about him in ASL

Patton uses it to double check with Virgil and make sure he’s ok.

Logan gets migraines.

Virgil wants to get his ears pierced

Patton takes the best pictures

Roman has the best poses, Logan just kind of… doesn’t react?? And Virgil either looks shocked, murderous, edgy, or cool. Half the time Deceit doesn’t show up in the picture, even if he’s there.

Deceit can disappear

Patton won’t let Roman get a real sword so he buys a plastic one and tries to look dignified with it.

Logan actually owns 7 different pairs of glasses, all placed strategically so he can just pick them up and look like he planned it if he forgets his own.

Patton does not have multiple pairs and therefore can’t see half the time

Logan and Patton find out they have pretty much the same prescription so sometimes Logan’s extra pairs are gone.

Roman and Patton sometimes switch outfits/places for the day and it usually goes unnoticed for a few hours until Virgil catches on. Logan claims he knows they’d switched the whole time.

Deceit can always tell if someone’s lying.

Virgil can read other people’s emotions and sometimes he picks up those emotions or is able to manipulate them (so far only negatively, which makes him afraid that he’ll hurt people)

Patton can do this too (reading others’ emotions and manipulating them) but only for happier emotions (confidence, joy, contentedness, etc)

Logan sometimes has dreams about the future

Roman can be a bit of a freeloader

No one has seen Roman’s room (Virgil got close once)

Virgil drinks a lot of coffee

Roman is a (slightly struggling) writer

Roman is teaching Virgil to play piano

Virgil has cassettes, vinyls, CDs, and online music

Patton tries to get into Virgil’s music and actually likes some of the older stuff

Patton and Logan tried to garden together once (it didn’t really work but hey now they have fresh carrots)

Patton owns two chickens named Mello and Rugby

He teaches Virgil to cook eggs and Virgil soon becomes the best at making eggs

Logan paints his nails occasionally with a clear coat.

Logan, despite his efforts, can’t get Roman to learn complex math

Virgil likes to sit outside on the roof (? under the sky) at night.

Roman owns the most pride paraphernalia.

Patton and Roman are superstitious

Deceit convinces them to hold a seance but then kind of starts to get into it

Logan and Virgil walk in to find them all in Harry Potter robes chanting while holding hands. Virgil just nopes away and Logan just facepalms before turning on the lights and explaining why they can’t just do this.

Patton doesn’t like umbrellas at all because he can’t figure out how to open them

Deceit has a good luck charm

Roman dislikes fish and fishing.

Virgil once actually caught a fish and was so shocked he just froze

Patton had to throw it back for him

Roman is an american football fan

Logan sits down to watch a game with him and ends up being louder than him

Deceit’s room is in another part of Thomas’s mind entirely, and sometimes he can hear the others and gets lonely

Logan gets sunburned the easiest

Patton and Roman are outside the most

Virgil just uses a lot of sunscreen

Deceit’s room is always changing and he can’t control how it changes.

Deceit likes big windows

Virgil prefers big cities

Roman sometimes thinks of himself negatively.

Patton’s emotions are often magnified.

Logan sometimes disappears from Thomas’s mind for a while, and when he gets back everything is usually in complete disarray.

Virgil calls Roman ‘Ramen’

Roman calls Virgil ‘Noodle’ to retaliate

Those are their nicknames for each other.

Virgil likes to roll his eyes and say “Here comes the royal Ramen.”

To which Roman replies “Shut up, Noodle.”
