On this blog, I'll be writing smut, fluff, oneshots, different series and requests. This blog account will mostly be fanfics. Whilst this is mostly a fanfiction account, I do plan on making a series of my own.

I'm trying to have a consistent upload schedule of one oneshot per week (probably on every Fridays). But I might not upload as much as I want to because I forget often, have writers block, or simply lack motivation.

I believe The Life of a Showgirl can be read as the convergence point of Taylor Swift’s entire career... An album written in the middle of the Eras Tour, a period when she spent years performing every past version of herself under the brightest spotlight imaginable. Night after night, she built mashups with surgical precision, revisiting old narratives and embodying the energy of each era with total fluency. While resurrecting her entire discography onstage, she was also writing this album... An album created in the exact moment she was celebrating, reinterpreting, and reclaiming her life’s work.

Continuing this Mirror Axis series, Track 3 and Track 10 on The Life of a Showgirl sit at the intersection of Speak Now and Midnights. In this framework, each Showgirl track pairs with its forward-era counterpart in the twelve-album sequence and with the era that mirrors it from the opposite end. For Tracks 3 and 10, the dyad unites the enchanted theatricality of Speak Now with the nocturnal introspection of Midnights.

Visually, these eras share a single color world of lavenders, violets, and blues, but the emotional temperature of that palette shifts dramatically. Speak Now gives us the young heroine in a fairytale: purple gowns, enchanted forests, spotlight shimmer, and a girl determined to prove herself. It is her first fully self-written album and her response to the glare of the world’s opinions after the VMAs. Everything she felt, she put on display. Everything she feared, she wrote through. The diary was her defense.

Midnights, also deeply personal, takes those same colors and drains the innocence out of them. The purples thicken into haze, the blues dim into insomnia, and the settings move inward. This is no longer a girl performing romance but a woman sitting alone with her thoughts, her ghosts, and the consequences of a life lived at scale. By the time she reached Midnights, she had weathered scandals, reckonings, misogyny, betrayal, global fame, and the long project of rerecording her own life. She had learned how to remain a diarist while crafting truth in a way that protects what needs protecting and reveals only what she chooses. The fairytale night becomes the sleepless night.

Speak Now is the fully confessional self and Midnights is the self who reopens the confession years later. Still the same voice, now writing with the weight of what the truth has changed.

This dyad captures the shift from fantasy projected outward to truth confronted inward. Speak Now is the girl who believes that revealing everything will save her. Midnights is the woman who knows it could ruin her, yet reveals it anyway.
