What makes a trueborn, actually?
Was discussing this with @clevermird a while ago but I keep rotating the thought about whether or not if Marazhai and Yrliet (or another female Aeldari) ended up having kids in his Corsair ending, they'd be considered trueborn.
On one hand yes, let's say they're both Corsairs. The kid would be born from a Real Vagina(tm) and not from a vat but so are all Exodites and all Craftworlders and those aren't considered "trueborn". Whoever Marzi has kids with (provided they're another Eldar) the child will inherit some traits from him like Drukhari strength and speed and pale skin etc. So yeah, kinda.
But in essence I think trueborn really hinges on whether or not it happens (more or less) in Commoragh or within Commorite culture - because it's set against the background of most others NOT being born this way and the insanely cutthroat society. It's so impressive because it's so difficult to do.
I don't think it absolutely has to happen in Commoragh. Complete HC but I suppose it has happened that kids and eldar baby mamas/daddys have been hidden away in sub-realms or real-space holdings. I also dont think it would HAVE to be with a Commorite partner - pretty probable that there have been Aeldari slaves used as breeding stock.
But still. If it happens on a Corsair ending, that's Marazhai leaving his position in Commoragh behind, so he's an outsider. Regardless of how cutthroat and aggressive Corsairs can be too, it's whether or not he is actively part of Commoragh culture that makes or breaks it.
