And I just released my second mixtape, "True Glory". It's almost the one year anniversary of my first mixtape Faded Glory, so I thought it was an appropriate time to release it. I recorded and wrote this in between March 2012-March 2013 in New Jersey. It's got plenty of remixes and originals, from hella nice producers that have been given credit.

"Let me be the the last to say, they will be okay." - The meaning behind the chorus of "Halos"
Soooo I just dropped a song earlier tonight, and I just wanted to put down somewhere as to what I was talking about in the chorus of the song. Of course, this song is pretty face-value, as it is about the Newtown shooting and such, but I feel the meaning of "Let me be the last to say, they will be okay" might be lost on some people.
When I say I want to be "the last to say", I mean I want this to be the last time something as tragic as this ever happens. I want this to be the last time we ever have to witness and that no one will have to say "They will be okay" ever again. I want to be the last to say that they will be okay.
Also, this wasn't originally by me, the original song was by Atmosphere, produced by Ant, vocals by Slug. The original song, "Last To Say" is about domestic violence and pleading the person to leave an abusive relationship. In the chorus, Slug also uses the line, "Let me be the last to say, you won't be okay" as in you won't be okay if you stay in this relationship. You need to leave him now, stop coming back, and don't let this happen again. Let me be the last person to tell you this. I use this line to a similar effect in Halos, borrowing not only the beat, but this really concise, profound line.
