Betrayal!

Friend, I have never before thought about writing betrayal (outside of the misunderstanding trope) before but ooh this ask has my gears turning!

I think if I was going to tackle this it would be in one of these types of scenarios:

Astarion x Durge - What if at the end of BG3 Durge attempts to pull his massive betrayal BUT is unsuccessful and now Astarion has to move on from that point. Falling in love with someone and trusting them so much all to find it was for naught? Holy angst batman 🤤

Tav x Durge- you know me and my TavxDurge brain rot, but what if instead of Durge (arguably the one with higher likelihood of pulling a sudden Judas) doing the betrayal it’s Tav? Ooh and what if it pushed him into a more unstable state where he’s even more on the cusp of embracing those dark urges? Yeeeee

Crack

I am 10000% likely to write crack. Crack is some of my favorite stuff to write. There's a lot of freedom in just writing whatever unhinged nonsense flits across the brain and I enjoy imagining dialogue that just goes completely off the rails. And crack treated seriously? Yes yes yes yes. Give me absurd situations to put my blorbos in. Let them say the most hilariously off the wall stuff but in context, still make sense.

As for characters/pairings? Probably almost all of them. No one is safe from me.

Crossover my beloved!!!!

A Lana crossover original? It's more likely than you think!

Guess who has been quietly writing a Baldurs Gate Three/Dragon Age Inquisition crossover? Is it crack? Yes.

Because when I started playing DAI I kept thinking how fucking funny it would be for Shadowheart to lose the Sharran Wound only to end up in Thedas and immediately get the Mark of “Andraste.” Like???? My girl cannot catch a fucking break 🤣 And for pairing? I’m still working that out.

Aside from that, I love a good crossover. I also played around with the idea of someone from Thedas dropped into Faerûn which, as a concept, I fucking love. But I have not had the time to really pursue it much (yet).

Can be really good….can also be really creepy…I feel like I only like it in a fantasy setting because in real life it’s somehow more creepy to read. I don’t think it affects my choice whether to read or not read a fic very much.

Strongly depends on my mood and the characters/setting/everything around it. Love it for my poor traumatised ships.

Enemies to lovers: 10/10

Again really depends on the characters tbh. Neutral opinion here. I don't care much about hate sex usually.

I don't have much to say here. It's just not really my thing although I do like it in small doses for example just pretending for a certain event or certain situation (like kissing for cover lmao I'm so simple)

YES ABSOLUTE S-TIER HERE. This is my kryptonite. It never ever fails me. I feast on the pain and whump of the hurt and then bathe my soul in the comfort it is the God of all tropes.

Mistaken/Hidden Identity: 0/10

I'm not sure what this trope means so I put it on neutral.

Entirely dependent on mood and if it's done right. I have very specific things I like and very specific things I don't like in regard to that trope so it's always a bit of an hit and miss.

Opposites (like grumpy×sunshine, etc): 0/10

Neutral really. As long as thr characters have chemistry I really don't care whether they are opposites or have the same vibe.

Poly: 0/10

I always feel that for me it's hard to get interested in a poly ship really. I can show a handful of examples maybe but none if them I read fic for. Not an outright no because U might give it a try depending on who the characters are.

Pregnancy: -10/10

NOPE. I really don’t see the appeal of this at all and I will reluctantly read it whenever it’s a small part of a bigger fic but if the whole fic is about pregnancy then it’s a nope for me.

Second Chance: 10/10

YES. Having to add Skyes comment here....especially when something forced them apart but they never lost feelings. COUGH Silrah teenage love then separation because of the war and Rosalind COUGH

Sex To Feelings: 0/10

I'm really into the pining aspect and that includes the desire building up so sex to feelings kind of takes part of that away so it's not my favorite.

Slowburn: 10/10

YES YES YES YES YES. As I mentioned before I adore the pining aspect and slow-burn has a lot of that so. YES.

Soulmates: 0/10

Not really my thing. I live for the angst and uncertainty in terms of love and the soulmates kind of takes away part of the “choosing you as my partner” . I don’t like instant love at all and too often soulmates incorporates that. But when it’s more angsty and dark then sign me up.

Not anything i seek out, but @cheeeryos's fic that's just like. Ronan and Adam secretly making out in medieval times and Ronan has a real sword and Gansey is the prince and Adam is his advisor? that was good stuff.

I tend to steer clear of things focused on gay life in the 80s/90s in the US (does that count as historical AU?) because the HIV epidemic is too much for me to handle in fanfic.
