"Captain - We've reached Civilian Evac Point Gamma." There's a pause on his end of commlink. "Sir, they were hit with some kind of chemical weapon. We found... seven survivors, sir. Please advise."
The Separatists had no qualms in the use of weapons of mass destruction Chemical, biological, radiological, or otherwise, nothing was out of the question. Many of their plots had already been thwarted over the course of the war, in fact, and they formed a shadow in the back of the mind of every clone that shipped out from Kamino. When would they have to finally use that CBRN training for real?
âIf your team has any probe droids or helmet imagers, activate them and give us remote access ASAP.â
While identifying the exact agent used could wait until the proper investigatory teams arrived, seeing the weaponsâ effects then would narrow it down and greatly inform their overall response. Judging from the soberness of the medicâs voice, he assumed it was going to be ugly, and steeled himself accordingly.Â
âFind adequate shelter a safe distance from the evac point and move the survivors there. Iâm sending my Lieutenant in another dropship â your priority is to keep them stable until he arrives with more instructions. Advisors will be on the line if you need us, Trooper. Good luck, and keep that helmet tight.â
While his command post had medical facilities, the chemical weapons factor dictated a much higher level of security for the wounded than it would be able to handle. Once they were on the return trip, the flight would be assigned a fighter escort and directed straight to their orbiting flagship. It was not purely out of concern for the civilians, no. The reason was that much colder, a matter of intelligence work and legal documentation. Debriefing those civilians was of utmost importance: the GAR had to know exactly what they were up against in order to minimize their own losses.
