California Academy of Sciences

The California Academy of Sciences is the world's only aquarium-planetarium-rainforest-living museum! See penguins and parrots, sharks or stingrays, and even fly across the Milky Way from your planetarium seat.

Children and adults alike will be thrilled by the living rainforest (complete with a swamp and an albino alligator called Claude) and the virtual safari in the African Hall. Arts and crafts are also available to occupy kids, perhaps while parents enjoy an international lunch from the restaurant!

Bambarol is popular, small and the new kid on the block, so it’s worth booking a table. This isn't much of a hassle to do, and we'd say it's worth it! 

Highlights of their menu include a Spanish interpretation of scrambled eggs, featuring chorizo and potato, as well as superb patatas bravas and Catalan pa amb tomaquet.

If you're vegetarian they're good at accommodating (especially with delicious mushroom dishes), and the waiters speak good English if your Spanish needs some work.

Bodega Biarritz 1881, C/ Vidre, 8

This cosy family-run tapas bar in Barcelona’s Barri Gòtic (or the Gothic Quarter) is a must-visit, although you may walk past it a few times before noticing it. Once inside Bodega Biarritz 1881, you’ll experience excellent service, reasonably-priced drinks and a great selection of  tapas. Specialities include cod croquettes, and a delicious goats cheese, spinach and roasted pepper tart.

An important goal to achieve

The mission of the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee is to inform people about their community as well as give them a taste of their culture by creating an epic celebration everyone can join. In order to achieve this, the committee invites all of you to be part of this unique and memorable event.

Each year the committee chooses a motto for the event. This year´s motto is Embrace, Encourage, Empower, and everyone is anxious to see how the participants will adopt it!

San Francisco Pride, a gigantic event

This year marks the 43rd anniversary of the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade. With more than 250 parade contingents, 300 exhibitors and 21 community-run stages and venues, this event is not only the largest annual gathering of people in the US, but it's also the second largest in the world, after Sydney.

To give you an idea about the importance of the SF Pride, the main stage of the festival has hosted such artists like Lady Gaga, the Backstreet Boys and Kat Deluna, leaders from the front lines of the same-sex marriage campaign. This year, on Saturday, the main stage brings the best of local musical talents: DJ Lezlee and Ms. Jackson. On Sunday, SF Pride offers exciting talents like Kimberly Caldwell, Gypsy Love, Nina Sky, Jason Brock and many others. Finally, we remind you that the two-day celebration is free and of course open to all!

Castro Neighborhood in San Francisco

Since you´re already in the great city of San Francisco, you really have to take our historical walking tour of the Castro Neighborhood to understand even better the way of life of the LGBT community. The Castro is one of the first gay districts in the United States, and is currently the largest one.
