I've decided that in my rewrite the mermaids of the Magic Dimension will each be aesthetically based on some fish Tressa as a lionfish, Nereus and Tritannus (being twins) both have eel features. For their parents I thought of the shark for Neptune and the mandarin fish for Ligea (suggested by @fancywardenhearts)

He's a little taller than he remembers being. It's.. odd. He looks over the tops of things he knows he doesn't remember. But he's Jude. There are memories he holds dear that no one else could have implanted, no one else could have known. But he's hesitated long enough in the foyer here, taking in the stale air of the funeral home.

Making the familiar walk back, he wanders into the back room - Tressa is at work, as ever. Emotion wells up, threatens to spill over. In that forest, he thought he'd never see her again. "Hey." He starts, clearing his throat. "I know this is gonna sound.. weird." His voice is a little too deep, more than he knows it was before. There's an accent, too, and that weirds him out some - but it's very slight. It's not Port Leiry native.

"It's -- I'm.." How does one even..? "Fuck. I'm Jude. I know I don't look -- I know I shouldn't be. But I am. It's me."
