Let’s talk Trench Face! I’ve really wanted to talk about this for a while, but I’ve honestly no clue where to start. For now, I wanna go over one of the weirder enemies in the game, the whale skeletons. These guys are a menace. They always know where you are on the map and are constantly moving towards you. The only saving grace is that they will always take a straight line and have no comprehension of what a wall is. Once you’re in combat with them, they have about a few thousand health if I remember right, and they have a bite attack that can instantly kill you if you’re not at nearly full health, which you’re likely not to be after it pummels you with its ribs. You need to deal massive damage by attacking and destroying the strings holding them up.

So. WHY are they here? They’re the weirdest enemies in the base game because the soldiers and bayonets do seem to be fitting to a battle field. The only other one that I think stands out is the spider thing. I think her name might be mother? Honestly I’d like someone to talk about her because she confuses me the most.
Anyway, I think that the whales are pretty important. They make me think of a whale fall, where usually the death of a whale means that the surrounding creatures have plenty to eat for a few months or even a year.
These whales are the opposite of that. They are skeletons, stripped clean to the bone. No sustenance can be gained from them. They serve as a representation of just how desolate the trenches are. No life can come from here. These whales bring only death. Also, they’re being suspended on strings so you could technically call them a whale float, heh heh.
