some illustrations from the She-Ra book, Island of Magical Creatures. I forget why I saved these on my iPad, but I’d like to have them easy access so Tumblr they go.
A couple months ago I was practicing meditation quite diligently but as I’m often one to do I kinda just fell off the habit. As a way to keep myself on track, and to share an incredibly helpful resource, I’m going to be posting links to the beginner talks offered by the Treeleaf online zendo. More specifically, Treeleaf is aligned with the Soto Zen school.
There’s 22 of these going from the very basics of shikantaza zazen (just sitting meditation) to more religious ideas of Zen Buddhism such as the Bodhisattva vows and the keeping of the precepts. I’m aiming to watch one of these a day followed by a 15 minute meditation session.
Anyway, link to the first one: https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/showthread.php?14895-Sit-a-Long-with-Jundo-Zazen-for-Beginners-%281%29
Be forewarned, the video has loud blender noises used as a rhetorical device!
