Stuff I saw across two different stores
lol
I heard that velvet trays are a thing people use for beading, so I glued some cotton velvet to a tray, and it is indeed much nicer for holding little thingies than slippery surfaces. The tray and the velvet were both from the thrift store. I probably should have held out for a better tray, because this one is so cheaply made that I had to saw down one corner, build up the other corner, and add feet in order for it to not be wonky on the bottom. The feet are little wooden domes that I have for making covered buttons.
I painted and varnished the bottom, and hid the edge of the velvet by glueing on some silk dupioni bias tape from my stash, which was leftover from a pair of stays I made in college. (If I were cutting strips for the edges specifically for the tray they would not be on the bias, since that's not necessary at all for straight edges.)
The thing I'm sewing sequins on is part of an appliqué that's in The Pile.

My Etsy shop is finally open!
Just dipping my toes in the water here, these will all just sit around if I don't do anything with them. Even if you can't buy anything a reblog would help a lot!
