uuhhhghguughh I have to leave in a half hour to drive an hour to the Metro North train station and take a 73 minute commuter train ride to Grand Central Station in NYC and then get on the 7 train and ride that for like 45 minutes and meet my friend at a bus station so I can stay overnight at her house to catch an early flight from JFK tomorrow. -_- All while carrying a big duffel bag. At least I don’t have to drive to New York and then try to find somewhere to leave my car for 5 days! that’s a huuuuge plus. So I shouldn’t be complaining.

Traveling
Well, I’m back in the States. I’m going to try to keep this short because there’s so much that I’m feeling, and it’s either got to be quick or it’ll turn into a novel. This feels very strange. Yesterday was my first full day back, and I actually felt like I was in a foreign country….something I haven’t felt in a while. I know that sounds impossible, considering I’ve been in actual foreign countries since October. But I think I got so used to having to adapt to different places, people, and cultures, that coming back to my roots felt….weird. By the end, I wasn’t adapting anymore. It became part of my lifestyle, part of me. I would be lying if I said that I was happy to end this season of travel. However, I’m excited to be home and see all of my family and friends again. It was definitely time to put my feet on the ground. Somehow, I have a feeling that I’ll be off again soon. I know don’t know where or when, for sure, but it seems that this is a restless period in my life, and there are many more new and exciting things ahead! I think I have some kind of attachment to my blog, so this probably will not be my last post, either. I’m not sure what I’ll write about in the near future, so you’ll just have to stay tuned to find out! Over the last nine months, I’ve spent time in eight countries…New Zealand healed my heart, Australia terrified me with its prospect of dangerous creatures, Indonesia (Bali) set me free, England showed me the true kindness of humanity, the Camino (France/Spain) brought me a community that I couldn’t have dreamt up better myself, the Netherlands gave me a place to rest and recoup, and Denmark brought me a Viking. I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it for as long as I’m alive…I am grateful. I am grateful. I am grateful! Grateful for each experience I experienced, each challenge I faced, each breakthrough moment, each breakdown moment, each enlightening idea, and most of all, for each and every person I’ve met since October. If any of you are reading this, Thank you for coming into my world and blessing me with a little part of yours. And anyone else reading this, whether you’re a friend from home or my family or someone else (?)….thanks for taking the time to have a look into my life. I hope you’ve enjoyed it! And now, it’s on to the next!
18) Traveling.
Like I've said in one of my first posts, I like exploring. It's so much fun going into uncharted territory and exploring the new terrain. Everything is all new to you and it's an amazing experience. It just feels liberating to get out there and find a new place to hang out with friends and show other people.
Recently, my best friend and I were talking about my trip to New York and Canada this summer, I was telling her how there was this amazing restaurant on 42nd street (Brooklyn Diner), and she said that she wanted to go there. I kind of wanted to go back too, the atmosphere is just so much different than in the quiet suburban neighborhood I live in. We then go to the topic of traveling, she told me how she wanted to go to places around the world, such as Paris, Italy (Nowhere in particular, I assume Venice), Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Her excitement got to me too, I wouldn't mind going to those places either, it would seem like a whole bunch of fun. Exploring a completely different place, like a whole different world. Everything would be so much different, the people, the places, the language, I really want to go to those places. There's always something intriguing about an unfamiliar language, how you always try to figure out what it means, and the mystery of deciphering it draws my attention a lot. I wouldn't mind traveling with my best friend, I mean, why would I? It would be a pretty awesome trip, plus traveling falls into the category of exploring. I've always wanted to explore the world with someone, just yourself and one or two more people, it'd make for a spectacular adventure, plus I could get a lot of pictures too. Although I'm still young, I hope to go around the world someday, maybe my friend shall accompany me, it's no fun going alone with no one to share the experience with.
Perhaps in the future I'll be on a plane going across the world with a trustworthy travel buddy.
