mars: who is your ideal best friend?

I have often said that I want to be best friends with John Mulaney (or someone like him), so I’m gonna go with him. He is very funny and for some reason I feel like he’d be a great listener. idk why lmao

mercury: what’s something you couldn’t live without?

Stuffed animals. The past year or so I’ve really come to appreciate the power that stuffed animals have. Having something to snuggle with makes sleeping much easier for me. When I don’t have one I really notice it.

venus: go to piece of clothing/outfit? this w ma hellscape is really getting to me. i don’t remember what it’s like to be warm. i worked security tonight and i didn’t take off my full length down coat the entire time i was in JOHNSON which DOES NOT HEAT THEIR LOBBY

22: Would you ever want to swim with sharks?

I’d definitely be open to it - I think sharks are the coolest. I’d probably be more inclined to do a shark cage dive since I’m not the most comfortable in deep water.  

30. Does everyone deserve a second chance?

That’s a hard question. Gonna break this up into big picture and small picture. First, big picture. Inherently I want to say yes - but with the giant caveat that sometimes in order to get a second chance someone has to prove to society that they are worthy of that second chance. Two stories I thought about when I read this question is the story of the guy who founded the non profit Life After Hate and Megan Phelps-Roper, who left the Westboro Baptist Church. Both of these left extremist hate groups they were active in and now speak about their experiences with extremism with the hope of helping others understand extremism and helping people leave extremists groups. They both contributed to a lot of hate but I think have definitely proven that they deserve a second chance. I think people are capable of redemption and if they’re willing to change, then I think we should encourage that by giving them a second chance. In my mind, redemption involves actively speaking up for the people who you hurt/doing something that actively works to fight against your previous bad actions. It’s not enough to say sorry, if you have to walk the walk too.

Smaller picture, I think it’s up to individuals to decide if they want to give people who hurt them a second chance. I’m personally a big believer in forgiveness, and think it can be a radical choice, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m gonna let someone who hurt me totally back into my life. But that’s easier said than done, especially in the case of something like a grave assault, and I can understand in that situation not giving any leeway in terms of offering up a second chance.
