Yunno what I want Adora fics where she's messy and broken externally. Not a bad ending fic (necessarily) not a Catra fic (those are also great) but specifically all the stress and trauma and wounded neediness that Adora has manifesting as approval-seeking...and failing.
I wanna see that desperate desire to be Good Enough met with fear or frustration or concern as she destroys herself (and the Horde) with the full ferocity of a traumatized living weapon turned demigoddess. I want a version of her story where the agony of being too much and not enough are real and devastating.
Because yeah, SPOP canon is beautiful and should exist. I'm grateful that it exists. It's a fantastic story and full of hope and joy and love.
And sometimes I want my namesake to crash and burn just like I do, and muddle through the unpleasant reality of being damaged before the helping hands are offered.
