There was one soul that he had missed, the scarlet color glowing faintly in the darkness of the caverns, hidden underneath the gravel. It pulsed like a beacon, giving off the same vibe back when Gaster almost tried to kill the human off before she vanished into thin air. Only this time the owner of the soul lay still on the ground, and the prize was there for the taking. Odd. It should've shattered if it was any other human's, but this one was trying to keep itself alive. -curioosity
The two monsters, both of the void and trapped within the same body, were at war. One wanted to protect Azura. One wanted to kill her. Gaster and Trashy had reduced their temporary form to a puddle on the ground, twitching and squirming as both sides inwardly screamed at each other- and occasionally outwardly screamed, if the occasional hissing was anything to go off of.
There was something that caught their attention. Both halves of Trashter noticed the soul on the ground, a good distance from the lifeless form of Azura.
It pulsed. It glowed. It looked delicious.
The monster stalked towards the soul, goopy limbs dragging along the ground. Its second mouth hung open as it approached. It leaned down towards the soul- and it hesitated. For just a moment, the creature that both was and wasn’t Gaster, was and wasn’t Trashy, hesitated.
But then the long blue tongue flicked down. It wrapped around the exposed soul and pulled it into the creature’s mouth.
