In Yandere, the prequel series for Yandere High School, Grian is shown to wear makeup!
Considering what we’re given about his parents- that they abandoned him at age six, and essentially had him raising himself since then- they.. they wouldn’t just. give their cis male son makeup.
We also know that they’re rich, something we learn from Sam’s.. general attitude to Grain’s possessions- (Grian gave Sam expensive gifts during the yhs Christmas special, which sam promptly tossed into a fire pit) so them, rich distant parents with no interest in communicating or developing any sort of relationships with their kid-.
Giving their six year old, at-the-time feminine-presenting kid wouldn’t be out of character. To shut them up and make them look like a preppy and well-put-together family and shit
We had a beach episode, which was Grian’s first appearance, and he, I believe, was the only male character who was wearing a shirt with their swimwear!
Grian was forced to crossdress by Sam, several times. My headcanon generally is that we already know Grian’s papers were fucked when he was sent to Japan, when he was six.
He ended up being put uhh two grades behind? because of it, so his negligent parents ALSO listing him as male, instead of his birth-assigned gender, wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.
He was six at the time and was shown to be generally very smart and aware. He realistically could’ve already had doubts about his gender at that age, and when he was sent to Japan, where people were using He/Him to refer to’em? He’d go along with it.
So with that in mind, Sam and Taurtis would already know Grian as he/him, so if he were to come out, then while Sam would probably use he/him for his own convenience since that’s already what he knows and he couldn’t be bothered to make the effort to relearn it.
of course, just because he uses the pronouns doesn’t make him exactly accepting of it, and would misgender him in other ways..
In Tokyo Soul, Taurtis, Sam, and Grian did a group costume I believe? (Taurtis was..Skywalker? can’t remember Sam’s) and Sam basically wouldn’t let Grian leave his room until he dressed up as Princess Leia.
I’m sure there’s more but.. Honestly even if it was just the fact he wore a shirt at a beach, that’s enough for the large portion of people i know that headcanon grian as trans.
Grian and Xisuma exploring each others' bodies, but not in a sexual way. Finding their different birthmarks, looking over each others' scars and sharing the stories behind them, running their hands over one another and just appreciating the feeling of the other person next to them.
Xisuma has a wider variety of scars, some long and narrow, others short and wide, and more a mix of everything. They're old and new, a result of clumsiness or misfortune. He's come to peace with them all, considering them his legacy for how far he's come.
Grian is far more reserved about his scars. The long one on his back with wings used to spread, the one's scattering across his body from not so good memories, even the ones on his chest that should bring him joy feel like a bitter reminder of everything he isn't. X does his best to kiss those feelings away.
