6/25/2019 15.02 miles/24.17 kilometers More like 14.1/.2, but GPS went haywire! YTD: 430.23 miles

I drove to @littlerunnergurl‘s place on Friday where she gave @trivialsheila, @excelwithpassion and I a quick tour after picking up our race packets for the Mohican Marathon.

I even climbed the fire tower.

... with this view, who could blame me?

Fast forward to Saturday. @littlerunnergurl left super early for the 100 mile race, the rest of us arrived around 11:00 just in time to see her finish her first ~27. We set out at noon and @excelwithpassion and I ended our adventure here:

We had a trail mishap about 6 miles previous to this location making continuing to run not be much of an option.

Just prepping for the Mohican Marathon I’m running in a few weeks. Apparently I need to worry about ticks, snakes, coyotes, and mountain bikers. So I think I’ll bring the above with me to fend them all off.

Still working towards hitting a new-to-me trail on Saturday. Definitely outside my comfort zone, I posted to a Chicago-area ultra-running facebook group soliciting company for my first foray to this particular forest preserve. Definitely outside my comfort zone.

4/13/2019 15.26 miles/24.56 kilometers Hawkeye 25K! (ish) YTD: 256.08 miles

@excelwithpassion and I ran a trail race! She wrote a much better race report than I could. It was a great time! My foot wasn’t in great shape and I only got some sharp pain a small handful of times, but we were able to keep moving, finish the darn thing, and we even both got big PRs!

The hills were ... OK. Most of them were short, none were terribly steep (unless you count the time we scaled vertically up some boulders because we couldn’t see how to get to another portion of the spillway. Technically we probably shaved a couple of yards off the official course, but we only saw wet footprints going UP, not OVER YONDER.

6/04/2019 1.00 miles/1.61 kilometers Gotta do something, don’t I? YTD: 400.60 miles

Nothing to see here, move along. 10 minutes of pretty easy stair climbing to net me 42 floors or 448′ elevation (according to my floors * 10.66 = feet formula).
