What is it from ???
@trai-all it’s the Great British Bake Off! If you’re in the US and have netflix, it’s marketed here as The Great British Baking Show. Much of it is also on youtube. It’s awesome.

“Ashamnu”
I know how you feel, and I know that shame. I tell myself that even if I'd said something, it wouldn't change their minds. But I still wonder if they think my silence is tacit endorsement and it eats me up.

I feel you. I’ve been you. (Really racist fam)I...
Yeah. The best case scenario would have been one or two of the group might have realized what they’d said and been ashamed and not thought/said things like that going forward. Worst case is, they would have caused a scene, stormed out, and gotten me fired (or tried to, anyway. I don’t think my boss would have but I also don’t know that they wouldn’t.)

This is one of those moments when I see myself in...
This was only dangerous to my financial well-being, and I know that I made a conscious and probably wise choice to fight a better and more important battle another day. But somehow that almost makes me more disappointed in myself? Which is probably sheer ego and needs to be sat on, hard.
There was a comfort, though, in knowing that my religious tradition basically - and rather explicitly- says “people fuck up. people are not perfect. You get a chance to say ‘I’m sorry’ and do better, if you truly mean it.” And to give us the words in which to express that regret and determination. Other people have failed before, and done better, after. So can I.
(for those not raised in the Jewish tradition, the Ashamnu and the Al-chet prayers confess our transgressions before our people, and before god, and lead us to ask forgiveness from both. They are traditionally spoken during the Days of Atonement [Yom Kippur])

Thanks! You may want to also check out the app memrise, too. It often has decent language courses.
Hey, thank you. That’s really helpful. I’ll check it out.

You may want to define what braising is ;)
That is what the internet is for.
But for those of you too lazy to check, the lazy eater’s version of braising is:
put your meat (beef, chops, chicken, fish, whatever) in a high-walled pan with just enough liquid to touch the tops, and cook, covered, at a steady simmer until the meat is no longer pink, and tender to the touch (or, for beef and fish, falling apart when you poke it with a fork).
Yeah, most recipes call for searing the meat beforehand, etc etc. Save it for when you’re feeling fancy. This is about getting tasty food in your stomach without stress or multiple-pan cleanup. :-)

You could post about funniest, saddest, most interesting things (etc) that you saw?
What an extremely specific question XD
There are so many funny and interesting things about the panels that I’ll use this post to talk about other things XD
There were great cosplayers--a girl was dressed as a clown (as in Sam’s biggest fear) and I have to compliment her because rocking a clown costume and make-up for three whole days doesn’t seem easy. A girl wore a stunning sexy Impala costume, with side blinkers on her hips :D and there was a guy rocking a perf Dr Sexy cosplay. There was a Cas cosplayer with black fluffy wings... I’m probably forgetting something rn.
(I’m starting to wonder what I’m going to write since I mostly attended panels. Oops.)
Something I found interesting is the age of the con-goers. Like, there were extremely few teenagers, we were mostly people in our twenties, thirties and up. Apparently the cons in America are attended by a lot of younger fans, while European cons are attended by an older audience.
The saddest thing of Jibcon is that it only happens once a year. And the food at the Hilton restaurant lol. (Although @domlerrys receiving a chicken and anchovies salad without the chicken or the anchovies was hilarious. Sorry Silvia but I’ll never stop telling people about that glorious salad.)
Idk there are probably many other interesting things I can’t recall rn ^3^

Direct physical abuse is subtext. Abandonment for unspecified lengths of times before Dean or Sam were competent enough to keep theirselves safe is text. And more likely to be fatal.
Yeah well I guess John beating up Dean isn’t that relevant when he’s left him to starve : /

Please.. I'm curious

trai-all replied to your post: So five people unfollowed in the last ...
I sometimes stop following people simply because I get overwhelmed by how fast everything starts to scroll by… Which means I’m more likely to unfollow after I’m overwhelmed with input in the real world or setting up more spam filters for email.
Yeah I get that. I also used to unfollow when my dash got too crowded. Now I am too attached to most people I follow so it's not an option :P but that might be a reason :)
