               “jory, baby, i’m sorry but i need you to come home. i know you’re at practice but fuck, they just won’t stop crying!!” dalton was clearly distressed, his voice cracking from the stress as he fought to be heard over the twins screaming in the background. “i’ve fed them, changed them, burped them, played with them and nothing is working !! they won’t stop and my dad he can’t come and i can’t get hold of your mom i can’t–  fuck, baby, i can’t do this i can’t handle them on my own not yet please. please jory, come home. i need help, and they respond to you better. i don’t think i can be left with them alone just yet i don’t think i’m ready i’m really not i can’t do it i can’t. one i could handle on my own, but not two, not yet.” he wanted so badly to be able to handle his children, he wanted so badly to not think of his mother and not to be able to understand where she was coming from but now, when there were two screaming babies and only one dalton, he could understand only slightly. but she gave up with just one, she didn’t care enough to try - to stay. dalton did. he’d get used to it, he would be able to handle them both, in time. but now just wasn’t that time.

                jory felt a part of himself come back when he got back to dancing. jory spun around and felt great again. he had to work his body back into shape so his muscles didn’t go soft. dance felt right, it was the thing he was best at, and he got to do it again. he could make this work, family and work. that was until a call interrupted his practice. jory took the call opening his mouth to respond only to be met with more of dalton’s panic. before the birth it had been jory who was afraid of being able to handle a baby much less two. dalton had been sure, dalton went back to the club relatively early. so jory had been alone with them both. he was used to holding the twins in his arms and looking down into their faces. he knew exactly how they liked their bottle and how to get them to sleep by singing to them softly. and playing the ballet music they had heard so much while inside him. he knew that he just needed to keep talking calmly throughout their cries and eventually they’d stop. he talked about his family and about dalton and eventually they’d quiet and stare up at him, not understanding but just listening to the tone of his voice. jory knew that they liked to be held on their belly at times or turned upright to calm down. sometimes his mother helped, but often he could handle them alone. colton in particular was a rather easy baby, quiet and easily hushed. julia was loud, screaming at the top of her lungs and complaining at every turn. his mother compared them to her siblings, the first set of twins. “carrie was a loud-mouth just like julia, cory was always sweet and quiet. you were the same way, you looked like your father, and i always planned to name you after him. but you were so quiet and sweet, and unlike your father, you were like cory, so i combined the two, and you were jory,” she tells him.

Colton stood beside his father, and little sister waiting for a seat to open up to the diner. Their other dad was running late, at dance practice, so the wait was probably a good thing. Colton tugged on the shirt tail of the person waiting in front of them. The person turned around stunned only for their face to relax as they looked down at the beautiful boy with dark blonde hair. “You know my daddy is the most beautiful dancer in the world. He’s famous, he can dance to anything,” Colton tells the man beaming. His eyes glance up at Dalton for a moment as if trying to decipher if he knows him.

“Not him,” Julia interjects, “our other daddy. He’s a great dancer, I’m going to be one just like him,” Julia says to the man. “His name is Jory Marquet, our grandma and grandpa were dancers too. They’re all famous. One day I’ll be famous too,” Julia beams. “Oooo...there’s daddy,” she shouts her attention turning to Jory whose striding towards them quickly.

Gives nose/forehead kisses: I feel Dalton gives them when Jory’s pouting and he’d do nose kisses. But Jory too would do forehead kisses.

Gets jealous the most: Dalton I think. I think it’s been made clear thread wise. But Jory absolutely would get jealous on occasion.

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive: Both would but I feel like Jory’s done it more often and shouted, “Get in asshole,” lovingly ofc.

Takes care of on sick days: Both? Like which one wouldn’t legitimately take time off of work just for this. 

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: Jory. Little kid at heart Jory.

Gives unprompted massages: Dalton.

Drives/rides shotgun: Dalton drives, Jory rides?? Is that an innuendo? Maybe.

Brings the other lunch at work: Both but since Jory works during the day I’d say Dalton. But I’m sure Jory’s brought food to the club and sat in Dalton’s office with him eating while Dalton works and they watch the security cameras.

Has the better parental relationship: With their parents? Both have good ones, but maybe Jory just cause he has more parental figures in his life, none of who he’s had a necessarily negative relationship with. If you mean with their children, Jory for now.

Tries to start role-playing in bed: Jory would absolutely.

Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Dalton, Jory dances beautifully even drunk.

Still cries watching Titanic: Jory would perhaps Dalton 

Firmly believes in couples costumes: Jory for halloween, but not couples as much as he believes in family costumes.

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Dalton definitely 

Makes the other eat breakfast: Jory, makes Dalton eat breakfast

Remembers anniversaries: Both do, but I feel like Dalton makes a bigger deal of it.

these two would have twins because jory’s family has a history of twins and because jory would be like of fucking course it’s twins.

Name: Colton Christopher Jacobs-Marquet (cause Jory’s family likes C names so he combined that with Dalton’s name, and the middle name is after his step father)

General Appearance: Dark blonde hair, dark blue eyes, people immediately think he resembles Jory, but he has some of Dalton’s facial features.

Personality: Kind, Creative, Ambitious, Temperamental, Stubborn

Special Talents: Can dance, but make music and art instead, has Dalton’s business sense. 

Who they like better: Jory, he hangs off Jory’s arm and was always trotting after him and clinging to him.

Who they take after more: Personality wise he’s quite the mix

Personal Head canon: He wanted to dance but Julia seemed bound determined to be the dancer in the family so he figured he’d find another hobby.

Special Talents: Dancing, she’s also very charismatic 

Who they like better: Dalton, as he doted on her as a child and was daddy’s little girl.

Who they take after more: Dalton sometimes but more often she resembles Jory’s parents.

Personal Head canon: Has wanted to be a dancer from the beginning but had to practice far more harder than her brother who had it as a more natural talent.

1. hmmm…i would have to say nothing? jory has been raised to survive anything, many things would nearly break him. but he is a survivor. he would nearly break if he were to lose the ability to ever dance again or if his mother were to die.

2. his first performance on the big stage, he danced as the nutcracker, which was the first role his father had starred in opposite his mother. he danced it perfectly, with his mother, step father, siblings, and grandmother all watching from the crowd. it felt wonderful to have everyone he loved watching him up on stage.

3. his worst experience came when an old woman moved next door to his parents house. his brother started going over there regularly and started changing. he was fourteen, and it was during this time that he discovered something about his step father and step mother. it was hard to not press judgement against them. at this time his brother was going through something, and nearly died of a leg infection. he also discovered that his pet dog from when he was a child, clover, had been murdered by someone. he discovered later that the woman who had moved next door was his maternal grandmother. his mother went over there to get her to leave them alone and was attacked by her butler. the butler set fire to the house, which nearly killed him, his brother, mother, and step-father. jory pulled his step father out of the burning house and tried to get his brother out of the house only to pass out himself. his step-father came to and pulled jory and his brother from the house before jory’s grandmother ran out pulling his mother. however his grandmother caught on fire and had a heart attack and died. it was a terrible thing to go through and the secret’s he’s discovered still rest on him with disease.

4. the man who gave him his dog, clover. he turned out to be his brother father, and his mothers step father.

6. about his family’s secrets. his biological maternal grandparents were related and each others half uncle and half niece. and his mother and step dad are related by being brother and sister. he’s afraid how people will look at him, and he loves his family despite the secrets. his mother and step-father were held in an attic for three years by their mother, jory’s grandmother. jory’s grandmother also was responsible for the death of jory’s uncle cory who died years before jory was born. he doesn’t want to share this part of him.

7. he doesn’t have it too often, but when he does he loves it. he’s had casual sex maybe twice in his life. the rest were when he was in a relationship. in bed he’s everyone’s dream. he can be dominant or submissive. but when’s he’s submissive, he drives people nuts, because he is so giving and basically terrific in bed. he is flexible from being a dancer. but he’s good at it, as much so as he’s good at dancing.

10. hmm…he’s very subdued. but probably if someone tried to keep him from doing something he felt he needed to. someone trying to control him would not be his thing.

12. he’s very aloof and doesn’t recognize people’s feelings towards him. he’s so independent and dedicated to his craft that it gets in the way of other people being connected with him. he thinks his dancing is the most important thing.
