Zimtsterne, or German Cinnamon Star Cookies, are traditional Christmas cookies with a delightful blend of almond and cinnamon flavors. These festive star-shaped cookies are popular during the holiday season.
Ingredients: 2 cups almond flour. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. 2 large egg whites. 1 teaspoon lemon juice. 1 teaspoon almond extract. Additional powdered sugar for rolling.
Instructions: Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and cloves to a large bowl and mix them together. Beat the egg whites in a different bowl until they get foamy. Keep beating until soft peaks form after adding the almond extract and lemon juice. Mix the egg whites and dry ingredients together slowly until a dough forms. Put the dough in the fridge for at least two hours, or until it is firm. Warm the oven up to 300F 150C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Put powdered sugar on the work surface and roll out the dough until it's about 1/4-inch thick. Cut cookies into star shapes with a cookie cutter and place them on the baking sheet that has been prepared. The cookies should be baked for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are set but not browned. For a few minutes, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet. Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely. Add more powdered sugar to the cookies after they have cooled. Have fun with these tasty German Cinnamon Star Cookies!

These soft and chewy ginger cookies have just the right amount of warmth and sweetness. The molasses gives them a rich flavor, and the sugar coating adds a delightful crunch. They are a traditional treat that will undoubtedly become a favorite!
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons ground ginger. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1/4 cup molasses. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/3 cup granulated sugar for rolling.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until creamy and smooth. Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, and roll them in the 1/3 cup of granulated sugar. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them. Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are set and slightly cracked on top.
