What is the ¢ulture of the trades in your area? Alex from @finalframing printed this shirt as a statement about the undervalue associated with those in the trades. It might be wages, value as a person, or value of work quality. • High school groomed me to believe that trades work was for those who couldn’t make it in life. Took ten years out of school to realize it was a viable career option. As a tradesman I’ve heard parents tell their kids to “stay in school so you don’t end up like that trades person”. And it has gone so far that I had someone say directly to me “Why would you go to school for framing? All you do is put a stud ever 16 inches”. • There has definitely been an improvement in society’s view of the trades worker in my area but there is still a stigma that does not encourage the up and comer to pursue it as a career. #jointheconversation #culture #tradesworker • . . . . #statement #tradeswomenofig #plumber #electrician #hvac #framersareadyingbreed #tshirt #carpenter #carpentry #woodworking #woodworker #woodwork #framer #framing #buildersofinsta #bluecollar #construction #framersofig #cantbeaframerandapussy (at Chilliwack, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzHVEJ_g6sF/?igshid=jon8kluc2lgc
