it's about the pining | GOOD OMENS SEASON TWO
Idk how hot of a take this is but I strongly believe that instead of having John Hamm as Vice Admiral Beau "Cyclone" Simpson, they could have replaced that character with Adrian Pasdar's Charles "Chipper" Piper. Chipper could have been a Vice Admiral by the time TG:M came out (I mean, Iceman was COMPACFLT). Then also, how devastating/difficult would the decision be when Mav was pulled off of the assignment if it had to have been decided by an old friend? Like they were friends but never close friends so I think Chip wouldn't have had a problem doing it.
Also, Pasdar said way back in the day that he'd be down to do the sequel (before it was seriously considered being done).
Also also, look at him as General Talbot from AoS:
I can imagine him talking to Mav like that

Mad Men (Season 5 Episode 1) The little black dress adorned with rhinestones worn by Megan (Jessica Paré) at Don's (John Hamm) birthday party. This vintage dress was chosen by Jessica Bryant, the show's costume designer, who remade the tattered sleeves in pleated silk chiffon.
