Caleb Williams’ Attempt to Trademark ‘Iceman’ Nickname Refused by USPTO
The USPTO issued an initial refusal for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams’ "Iceman" trademark application due to a conflict with the existing LaCrosse Footwear "Iceman" trademark registered in 1988. The agency cited a likelihood of consumer confusion because both marks cover related goods such as apparel and footwear. However, the decision is not final, and Williams’ legal team can respond, seek coexistence, or challenge the older registration if it has been abandoned.
