How to help the environment a bit while not doing anything
I get it, wanting to help but not having the time or the resources to do that. But here's a guide on how to get other people who actually can to do it for you:
Open Firefox on your computer. It doesn't work with Chrome because they're assholes.
Search "trackmenot firefox" on you browser and install the extension, or do it through this link.
On the top right corner you will find the Trackmenot icon. Click it and select options.
On the 'Search engines' section, uncheck all search engines.
Open Ecosia on another tab.
Search "trackmenot" on Ecosia (without the quotes) and copy the link.
Go back to the Trackmenot options tab and click the + in the 'Search engines' section.
In the name box write Ecosia (or whatever you want, it doesn't matter), and paste the URL on the URL box.
Set the query rate to maximum and let the computer do searches on its own.
Every 30 or so searches, Ecosia plants a tree, so every 3 minutes more or less, you are planting a tree somewhere, while at the same time messing up the data big companies collect from you!! It's a win-win.
I'm not sure about this one, but I think if you check the 'Click on search results' option you need less searches to plant a tree
