It was not much of a task for Jason to get the ingredients Isaac requested. The first thing he got were the items for Percy. Jason had a lot of photos of them together throughout the years. So there was that. Then he got a picture of Reyna trying to do a selfie. Going through out his apartment to acquire these items made him really emotional. It reminded him that the next time he saw their faces, they might not be attached to their bodies. They might even be alive, but horribly disfigured. Those thoughts only made him search harder for the next two ingredients. Something of their DNA. Using his position in New Rome, and intimidating the legionnaires ordered to guard Percy's apartment, Jason got in and searched his bathroom first. Thankfully Percy kept his hair long and retrieved a piece of the boys hair from his shower. Next was Reyna's home. The shower trick worked once again, and then he headed for Isaac.
Isaac had been keeping acorns for tracking spells for years, ever since he had discovered that they could be used for magic he had kept them in a draw in his little magic shop. Grabbing a large, smooth and gold one, he slipped it into a vial and grabbed a second one before heading to Jason's apartment where they had agreed to meet. Grabbing his staff as an after thought, he left it extended and used it as a walking stick. Making his way across the city he arrived at Jason's apartment and knocked on the door. "Jason?" he muttered with a wry smile, he could just tell him where everything was. But that would be too easy, and there would be no fun in that. No he was going to keep this to himself for now, pretend to track them, mess the spell up deliberately, lead them on a merry dance across the city and maybe across the nation, and then when Jason realised it wasn't working he would simply realise it was just a counter spell to stop him finding Jason's friends!
Jason flew right down onto his patio at the time they were suppose to meet. He walked into his apartment through the outside, and as luck would have it, there was a knock at the door. "Isaac! Coming! Hold on one second dude!" Jason used the air to leap over to the door. Every second mattered to him. Every, single, second. "Isaac!" Jason rushed Isaac inside after checking the hallway outside his place. He felt like he couldn't trust anyone. Trusting Isaac even was a risk. "Okay, so how do we begin? I go the stuff. It's in my bag over here." The demigod went over to his couch and grabbed the stuff, having put everything into little zip-lock bags.
Looking at Jason quizzically, Isaac slipped inside of the room and looked at him giving him a gentle smile but making sure not to reveal his plan. Or at least he hoped that he hadn't. He was constantly gambling, gambling that no one would work out what he was doing and gambling because if he did get caught, if someone did wok it out. Then that would be utterly disastrous. He would have to run away, probably to another country and as much as he loved killing, he really enjoyed life in New Rome. "Get the stuff and lay it out on the table." He spoke as he rummaged in his bag and pulled out a tripod, a heating panel and a small bunsen burner, using a quick ignition spell he set the fire alight with a purple flame. Grabbing a mortar and pestle he began to crush the first acorn. Then I need some alcohol, vodka would be preferable and some water.
Jason nodded and did as he was told. For being a leader, being a son of Jupiter, Jason often did what other people told him to do. Sometimes he just went along with it, played the role of an obedient soldier. It was quite strange for someone like him. He took out the bags of their hair, each one was labeled. Then came the photos: Reyna's selfie, Jason and Percy together. He had to stop his hands from shaking as a chill ran down his spine. "Vodka? Uh, I can get the water. Hold on." He ran to his fridge and poured a few glasses of water from the jug, not knowing how much was needed. "Does it matter how old the vodka is?" He raised an eyebrow while searching the fridge. Maybe it was good Nico had come over that one night when he cheated on Percy. Otherwise, he might not have had this bottle of vodka. "I got it thought," and with that, he brought the glasses of water and bottle of vodka over to the witch, using air to carry them.
Finishing crushing the first acorn, Isaac reached over for the second one and carried out the same thing. Pulling two small bowls out of his bag he poured the mixture of acorns into the two seperate bowls. One for Reyna and one for Percy. "The age of the vodka doesn't matter," he said gently as he continued walking. Next he grabbed the water and poured it in, mixing it around he took the photos and tore them up, pour them both into the bowls and taking the two hairs each. Placing those in the bowl he took the vodka and poured a generous amount into each. Setting them both on fire he smiled as they burnt. Beginning to chant in latin he held his hands over the bowls for a second before sitting back. "Now we wait."
"For how long?" Jason asked. You could tell by his voice he was already impatient and antsy, ready for the spell to be complete. Jason sat down on the couch, his hands cupped together as his knee shook. "I haven't gotten barely any sleep in the past few days. I don't know what to do. The campers and citizens want justice for Finan Wither's death, among the other people who had died. I don't know how long Percy and Reyna have. But then again, I mean, they both had fought with and against Gods. Whoever has them isn't going to be able to kill them so easily."
Isaac shrugged. "Until it stops burning of course," he smiled and sat back, Jason was in pain and that was good, the sadistic side of Isaac relished in that and he couldn't help but enjoy it. It was just part of his life. A part that he really enjoyed. "Maybe you should get some sleep, if this works and there is no guarantee that it will," he knew that it wasn't going to work, "then we'll have to fight our way into wherever they are holding them..." he shrugged gently and looked at the two bowls. They'd gone out and inside of them sat two fresh acorns. One had a bright blue tint to it and the other a bright purple tint. "These acorns will point you in the right direction." He was lying. They wouldn't point him in the right direction.
Jason stared down, almost hypnotically at the glowing bowls beneath them. Jason gulped, his adam's apple bobbing significantly. "I can sleep once we find them." His gaze rose to the son of Trivia. "How do we follow the trail then?" He stood up and pulled the golden coin from his pocket. The golden coin that would grow and transform into a shimmering imperial golden sword. It's a good thing Jason didn't know the truth about Isaac. Otherwise that blade would be out right now.
Isaac smiled and tossed them to Jason. "You follow the way that they lead you, they'll shake gently when you hold them in the right direction and the faster they shake the more on the right path that you are." He smiled and gathered up his things before walking to the door. "I'll see you around Jason, good luck Pontifex Maximus."
Jason frowned, seemingly worried that this was too easy. "That's all?" The reaction and smile he got from Isaac seemed to be all he would get. The young blonde nodded and took the glowing blue one, figuring that was meant for Percy. Then in his other hand he grabbed the purple bowl. Turing around until they shook, Jason fled by air through his patio once again, trying to follow these magically enchanted bowls.
