Dazai Erased sounds really intriguing! :o - toz.
!!! Oh yeah!! I love that one!!
So you know the current plot of BSD is that the Book has been used to frame the ADA from crimes they haven’t committed? Well I wanted to explore the book and the effect it has on Dazai (I’m semi-ignoring the precedant set up in BEAST novels because fuck that book <3).
So Kamui or Fyodor (haven’t decided who or if it’s a plan by both yet) need to remove Dazai from the picture and decide to use the Book to do so. However the Book physically can’t effect Dazai because it’s still an ability (I remember Dazai having described it once as a crystalized ability of sorts? Eh, if not then it is now).
And so they do something different, the write in the Book to erase the conscience and perception of Dazai from evey human being (...I just realised that would include themselves too so maybe they add a clause? It’s the Book, they can do anything) so Dazai isn’t seen or remembered by anyone. Except two people.
Chuuya, who has a god inside him so he’s not completely affected (I’m going to have it so he remembers but he can’t see him) and Atsushi, who’s ability has been described as the ability to cut through other abilities (I think the route I’m going to go is that whenever he uses his ability he can see Dazai and he has a feeling he’s important deep down).
SO! Basically Chuuya wakes up wondering why the fuck everyone has forgotten Dazai and he can’t find any evidence of him existing, Atsushi wonders why there seems to be a ghost that no one else can see following him around, and Dazai is fighting with his need to keep his promise to Oda and struggling because he can finally achieve a suicide where he’ll be no-one’s burden (or almost as Chuuya and Atsushi remember him) so now would be the perfect opportunity to do it.
I’m having fun thinking about all the effects Dazai’s erasure will have on people. Akutagawa is a big one because he’s so messed up but now he doesn’t know why.
I’m probably going to make the central characters Dazai, Atsushi, Chuuya and Akutagawa and most likely keep it all platonic for the most part. I just need to plan out everything and how it’ll all work but it’s definitely something I want to write.
